Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people argue that saving money is equally important for young people as for old in order to tackle future emergency situatuions. I agree that saving money is necessary no matter which age you are; because life is uncertain there can be disease you may get and require money for its treatment so saving enough to handle such situations is mandatory.
Young people should be taught the importance of saving money as these habits would help them manage their expenses as they grow older. When children move to college or univertities and have to live in dorms they need to manage their spending weather its transport, food or buying educational documents. If they are taught well they can be creative enough to utilize online pdf documents would not eat from outside everyday. Furthermore, would save enough money to purchase an electric bike that would benefit in long run.
It is duty of parents to teach them how to handle difficult financial situations. They can create them a bank account so they can track their expenses from their card. The money they would save might look like a hassel to them but eventually they will understand that not everyday is the same. They may get in an accident and might not be able to contact their parents the money they saved can help them in their medical bills.
In conclusion, i strongly agree that it is essential for all individuals including young people to not spend money on un-necessary stuff and save for future needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance that saving money is essential for young people as well as adults. The position is maintained throughout the essay. The main ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as managing expenses in college dorms, utilizing online documents, and preparing for medical emergencies or accidents. However, some of the supporting points, like purchasing an electric bike or specific accident scenarios, could be further extended and generalized to fit academic task conventions more tightly. Overall, the prompt is adequately covered, and the arguments are clearly presented, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 descriptor level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized, with distinct paragraphs dedicated to the importance for young people and parents' roles. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases are missing or awkward in places, such as 'Furthermore, would save enough money' lacking a clear subject. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and punctuation errors, such as missing commas between clauses, disrupt the smooth progression of ideas. Nevertheless, the progression of thought is generally logical and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'uncertain', 'mandatory', and 'financial situations'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'situatuions', 'univertities', 'weather' instead of 'whether', and 'hassel' instead of 'hassle'. Additionally, phrasing like 'eat from outside' is rather informal and less appropriate for an academic context. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6, as the vocabulary lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over clause structures with constructions like 'When children move to college or univertities and have to live in dorms they need to manage their spending...'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, including run-on sentences, missing articles, and subject omissions (e.g., 'Furthermore, would save enough'). Sentences often lack necessary punctuation, forcing the reader to re-read certain parts. Although meaning is generally conveyed, the frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching the Band 7 threshold where error-free complex sentences predominate.
