Student answer (Band 6.5)
In order to live a wealthy life with ease and comfort, money is extremely essential. It is believed that if youngsters want to have a bright future, they should have financial reserves like a nest egg. I wholeheartedly agree with the notion that savings lead to a promising future because it brings more opportunities in education for international students; also, emergency savings can save a life in unfortunate circumstances.
Primarily, I believe that setting aside money is crucial, as it can open several doors for learners that wants to get higher education from another country. Education is utterly expensive for international scholars, and thousands of youngsters lose this chance just because they don't have enough assets; specifically, those who do not have good grades. Nevertheless, if parents and teachers teach the kids from a young age to cut expenses and make habit to save up money, then every human can have a good future. For instance, China is a country where kids are being taught from a young age to save their money by their parents and teachers. Moreover, young generation starts to earn their own money at an early age, so they know the worth of their funds beforehand.
Secondly, Life is very unpredictable, and anyone can face hard challenges like accidents or other diseases, so if a person has funds, then he can easily support himself or his loved ones without being dependent on anyone. People in these situations usually take loans either from banks or from other relatives, and they face hard times throughout their lives; they also have to face humiliation from those relatives as well.
Overall, money is a necessity for a good life. So every human should have the habit of mindful budgeting, as it can bring golden opportunities for people. Furthermore, it can help them in any mishap in their life, so that they do not become helpless in those times.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout. The writer agrees that saving money is important for young people and supports this stance with relevant arguments, such as funding international education and providing a safety net for emergencies. The ideas are extended and supported, although the example regarding China is a broad generalisation. The introduction clearly outlines the writer's stance, and the conclusion succinctly reiterates the main points. The content is well-focused on the prompt, meeting the criteria for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, starting with an introduction, moving to two well-defined body paragraphs with cohesive starters ('Primarily', 'Secondly'), and ending with a clear conclusion. Cohesive devices are used adequately, such as 'nevertheless', 'for instance', and 'moreover'. However, referencing and transitions are at times slightly mechanical ('Secondly, Life is very unpredictable'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, supporting a clear overall progression. This fits the Band 7.0 descriptors well.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision, incorporating less common items such as 'nest egg', 'financial reserves', 'utterly expensive', and 'mindful budgeting'. There are occasional lapses in word choice or collocation, such as 'make habit to save up money' (should be 'make a habit of saving') and 'young generation starts to earn' (missing an article). However, spelling is generally accurate, and the vocabulary is adequate to convey meaning effectively, warranting a Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, successfully employing conditionals ('if youngsters want to have a bright future, they should have...') and relative clauses ('those who do not have good grades'). There are some grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('learners that wants to get') and punctuation slips. However, these errors rarely impede communication, and the frequent error-free sentences indicate good overall control, aligning closely with Band 6.5.
