IELTS Writing Task 2 question

It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Most people generally believe youngsters should save money to achieve their future goals, but Gen Z is more focused on the present and spends money unnecessarily on entertainment and fun.

I firmly believe money plays a crucial role in everyone's stability and sense of self

The young generation also realizes that financial security is essential in this contemporary world. Most of them are concerned about their future and are eager to make a place in the world but aren't aware of how to manage their finances, and they spend on things that they actually don't need in order to make themselves happy. So, in my opinion, adults should save money; there should be workshops for that.

Furthermore, another major factor is in a certain age, owning a house gives everybody social security, and it is investing in something that will benefit them. Saving money also enables them to start their own business if they are not interested in doing jobs; also, they fulfill their long-awaited dreams. Savings can also be used in their troubled times, for instance, a medical emergency. Then people are more concerned about the better future of their kids and know the importance of saving.

Overall, I believe it's a beneficial and suitable act for individuals to save money for their future, but we should not forget that the happiness of the present is also necessary. So, we should save money but also spend where it should be. Moreover, Financial education is effective for every age group.
