Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is essential for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future. I strongly agree with this claim because saving money can help people to have sufficient money for unforscene events as well as become independent.
When people save an adequate amount of money, they may be able to handle the financial burden more easily during their financially difficult times. This is largely because they have sufficient funds available to cope with the financial losses and constraints. Consequently, after severe financial loss or extreme difficult financial situation, people might be able to maintain their finances smoothly or bounce back to their position more quickly. For instance, if an entrepreneur faces a severe decline in the number of his products sale during a few months, then his savings from the earlier months might help him considerably to bear the loss or maintain the same position in the market.
Additionally, people can use their savings to buy assests which may encourages their confidence and make them independent. In this case, as young as someone is and they are able to purchase assets, it can help them to become mature more earlier. They can use their assests for different purposes such as buying new assests or starting a new businesss. As a result, when they are totally on their own for such decisions and use their money themselves, they might become more independent. For example, a twenty years old boy saves over 50% of his salary every month and by the end of next twelve months he has adequate funds to buy either a land or a peoperty or start a business, he will be completely on this own to decide how he will use his savings. This will also help him learn about making wise decisions in the future.
In conclusion, everyone including young people should save money for their future as it does not just help them in their difficult time but also help them to become independent in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response fully addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position and supporting it with relevant arguments. The writer successfully discusses both the financial security aspect (coping with unforeseen events) and the independence aspect (buying assets and making mature decisions). The ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the entrepreneur facing a decline in sales and the twenty-year-old saving part of his salary. While some of the supporting explanations are slightly repetitive, the overall task response easily satisfies the requirements for Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a concise conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Consequently', 'Additionally', and 'As a result' are used to signal progression and connect ideas. Paragraphing is handled appropriately, ensuring that each main idea has its own section. However, referencing and transitions are at times slightly mechanical ('In this case', 'As a result, when they are totally on their own'), placing the performance solidly within the Band 7 descriptors for clear organisation and progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow for flexibility and precision, employing less common items such as 'unforeseen events', 'financial burden', and 'independent'. There are some minor lexical and spelling errors, such as 'unforscene' instead of unforeseen, 'assests' instead of assets, and 'businesss' instead of businesses. Despite these lapses in word choice and spelling, the vocabulary used is adequate to convey meaning effectively, fitting the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, displaying attempts at subordination and conditional structures ('if an entrepreneur faces...', 'when they are totally on their own...'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings present throughout the text, such as 'as young as someone is and they are able to' and 'mature more earlier' (instead of earlier or more mature). While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of grammatical control.
