Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern era, many people likes to buy a materialistic things. And advertisement play a big role related to this factor. So there has been a concern about saving the money, especially for young people for their future growth. I strongly agree with this statement because it has more advantages than disadvantages.
First of all, money plays a vital role in human life and without this people can not buy things in all around the world. In contemporary society, many teenagers and adults are getting influenced by the celebrities and purchased luxury items to show off there products to there friends and family members. They think that these materialistic things can improve there living comfort and make their personality better. These assets can be useful if they get a profit from that, otherwise it is a not good thing. However, in many cases the items like watches and cars are having a good value in market place and in return they get a huge amount of benefits. And if they invest their wealth on some realestate properties which will give them a more extra benefits and can also earned benefits and improve their standard of living.
On the other hand, the government are providing many types of financial schemes and policies like Mutual funds and FD's where they can invest their wealth in this and get a huge interest from that. If they can save their wealth right now, then it can be useful for them for there future purpose. And it can also helps them in a medical condition, where those who dont have any insurance policies then there families have to suffer a lot and they do not get a proper medical treatment in the hospitals.
In conclusion, if people learn how to spend their wealth properly based on their priorities then they can live life very happily and in future they do not have to beg someone for the money..

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt effectively, presenting a clear and well-developed position on whether young people should save money for the future. The writer introduces relevant ideas regarding consumerism, advertising, and the benefits of investments such as real estate and mutual funds, supported by examples like cars, watches, and medical emergencies. While some arguments, such as the transition into the benefits of luxury items, are slightly repetitive and could be extended with more precision, all parts of the task are addressed with a clear overall stance. This aligns best with Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors, specifically fulfilling the criteria for a clear position and relevant main ideas, though some development is slightly generalised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a logical overall progression, moving from an introduction of modern consumer habits to the benefits of saving and investing, and finally concluding with advice on budgeting. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as the exploration of materialistic items versus government financial schemes. However, cohesive devices are occasionally mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'And' and 'Also' at the start of sentences (e.g., 'And advertisement play...', 'And if they invest...'). Referencing is also sometimes unclear, notably with pronouns like 'they' and 'their' occasionally creating slight ambiguity regarding whether they refer to young people, governments, or celebrities.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the academic task, including terms like 'contemporary society,' 'materialistic things,' 'investment,' and 'insurance policies.' However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'many people likes' (subject-verb agreement combined with lexical misuse), 'show off there products' (misspelling and awkward collocation), and 'earn benefits' instead of 'reap benefits' or 'gain returns.' While the vocabulary is adequate to communicate the central ideas clearly, these frequent inaccuracies and spelling slips ('realestate', 'dont') restrict the score to a solid Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses (e.g., 'which will give them a more extra benefits'). However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, such as singular/plural mismatches ('many people likes', 'the items... are having', 'the government are providing') and persistent homophone confusions ('there' instead of 'their'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are occasionally problematic, with run-on constructions. Although communication is rarely impeded, the density of grammatical slips prevents the score from reaching Band 6.5.
