### Essay
It is often argued that everyone, including young people, should save money for their future. I strongly agree with this statement because saving money provides financial security, prepares people for unexpected situations, and helps them achieve their long-term goals.
Firstly, saving money can protect people from financial difficulties in the future. Unexpected expenses, such as medical bills, unemployment, or urgent repairs, can occur at any time. Having sufficient savings means that people do not always have to depend on their family or take loans. For example, a young employee who saves a portion of their monthly salary can create an emergency fund. This money can be extremely useful if they suddenly lose their job or face an unexpected expense.
Secondly, saving from a young age can help people achieve important goals. Young people may eventually want to buy a house, start a business, pay for higher education, or get married. Although saving a small amount each month may seem insignificant, it can become a substantial sum over several years. Moreover, developing the habit of saving early teaches young people financial discipline and helps them distinguish between essential and unnecessary spending.
However, I believe young people should not save every penny and completely avoid spending money on themselves. They should maintain a balance between enjoying their present life and preparing for the future. For instance, they can allocate their income into different portions for necessities, entertainment, and savings.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that everyone, particularly young people, should save money for the future. Regular saving can provide financial independence, reduce stress during emergencies, and make it easier to accomplish important future goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The student fully addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear and well-developed position on whether everyone, including young people, should save money for the future. The response presents relevant, well-extended ideas regarding financial security, unexpected situations, and long-term goals. For instance, the discussion in the second paragraph details how an emergency fund protects against unemployment and medical bills. Furthermore, the inclusion of a counter-perspective in the fourth paragraph—acknowledging that young people should also enjoy their present life—enhances the depth of the argument and ensures a balanced treatment of the topic. The ideas are cohesive and logically supported throughout the essay, meeting all criteria for a Band 8 level in Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay demonstrates a clear logical organization and smooth progression throughout. Information and ideas are logically sequenced, beginning with a strong introductory stance, followed by well-structured body paragraphs, and concluding with a concise summary. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'However' are used appropriately to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is handled skilfully, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct central theme, such as emergency preparedness or achieving long-term goals. Referencing is clear and unambiguous, maintaining overall cohesion without mechanical repetition.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The writer employs a sufficient and appropriate range of vocabulary that easily allows for flexibility and precision. Less common lexical items are used effectively with good awareness of style and collocation, such as 'financial security', 'emergency fund', 'financial discipline', and 'financial independence'. There are only occasional minor inaccuracies, and spelling throughout the essay is entirely accurate. The vocabulary choices enable the writer to convey precise meanings clearly and naturally, supporting a solid Band 7.0 performance for this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response features a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures, demonstrating good control over grammar and punctuation. Complex forms, such as conditional ideas and subordinate clauses, are integrated successfully (e.g., 'Although saving a small amount each month may seem insignificant, it can become a substantial sum over several years'). The majority of sentences are error-free, and any minor slips do not impede communication. Punctuation is used correctly to demarcate clauses and list items, reflecting a strong command of grammatical conventions consistent with a Band 7.0 score.
