Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the statement that saving money is important. Main ideas are presented, such as emergency funds and business investments, though some parts are slightly under-developed or wander into overly personal anecdotes, such as mentioning the specific bakery shop and capital amount. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the over-generalisation in body paragraphs and the repetitive phrasing limit the depth of idea extension. According to Band 6 descriptors, the response addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some are under-developed and lack clear logical expansion. Overall, it achieves a solid Band 6.0 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is arranged into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a logical structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices. For instance, the transition 'Secondaly' is misspelled, and phrases like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion' are used abruptly. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the sudden shift from the plural 'people' to the singular pronoun 'your' and back to 'I'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion lacks smooth transitions. This fits the Band 5 descriptors well, where there is some organisation, but cohesive devices are inaccurate and referencing can be unclear.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'prospects', 'accumulation', 'substantial', and 'escalation', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation throughout the text. Examples include 'protect your cash for later period', 'resources diminished', 'with these capital i can enjoy', and 'sustained extra income spent'. Spelling errors also appear, such as 'strongle', 'Secondaly', and 'peacefull'. These errors occasionally cause the reader some difficulty, though communication is generally maintained. This performance aligns closely with Band 5, as the vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate with noticeable errors that impact precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinating clauses with 'because', 'although', and 'when'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, and tense consistency. Examples include 'This statement is controversial issue today whether...', 'its play a crucial role', 'there is certain savings which can be utilize', and 'adults can start there small business'. Punctuation is also problematic in several places, notably spacing and capitalization issues. While simple sentences are generally understandable, attempts at complex structures frequently result in faulty grammar. This corresponds to the Band 5 descriptor for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
