Saving money for the future is a good habit for all age groups. I completly agree with this statemement, It It helps to face future uncertainity, make future plans, and to teach the value of money to youth.
To begin with, future is unpredictable. Anything can happen in the upcoming years such as job loss, injury, and loss in business. To tackle this kind of hurdles, people need to be prepared in advance. Although we can not avoid the future losses, we can save money to manage rainy days. Furthermore, individuals can make huge investments with money saved for the future to expect good outcomes. Moreover, it will help youngsters to become independent and learn the lesson how to manage future expenditures. They will know the value of money. In this modern era, youth is becoming materialistic. They are following trends without thinking about cost of products. If they have the intentions to save money, they will research about comparative price of items before making any purchase. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear and consistent position in agreement with the statement. Ideas are extended and supported, such as discussing how saving helps tackle future uncertainties like job loss and teaches financial responsibility to youth. However, there is a tendency to slightly over-generalise or under-develop certain points, such as the brief mentions of making business investments or buying company shares without deeper elaboration. Nevertheless, the main arguments regarding financial security and youth education are relevant and well-supported, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 7 performance. Looking at the descriptors, the writer covers all parts of the task with a clear position throughout, aligning well with Band 7 criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The response is divided into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs exploring different facets of saving money, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical, as seen in the phrasing errors at the beginning ('completly', 'It It helps'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but the overall flow can feel slightly stilted due to repetitive transitional structures. This places the text comfortably at Band 6, exhibiting a coherent overall arrangement even though cohesion can be somewhat mechanical at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'uncertainity', 'expenditures', 'materialistic', and 'monetary deficiencies'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that slightly detract from precision, such as 'completly' (completely), 'statemement' (statement), 'uncertainity' (uncertainty), and 'comparative price' (comparative prices or price comparison). Furthermore, collocations are occasionally unnatural, such as 'buy company shares' instead of 'purchase company shares' or 'invest in company shares'. Despite these flaws, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without impeding communication, matching the Band 6 descriptor where an adequate range is used with some inaccuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional clauses ('If they have the intentions to save money, they will research...') and dependent clauses effectively. However, there are several grammatical errors and punctuation slips scattered throughout the text. Examples include punctuation splicing ('I completly agree with this statemement, It It helps...'), missing articles ('future is unpredictable', 'establishing business'), and minor subject-verb agreement issues ('youth is becoming materialistic'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede communication. The control of grammar aligns best with Band 6, which features a mix of simple and complex sentence structures alongside some persistent errors in grammar and punctuation.
