Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years. saving money has become a widely debated issue for everyone ,as well as, youngsters . We shall talk about this very issue in this essay.
Firstly, in order to save money for bad times has become very important these days. The level of inflation has reached to such an extent , where people believe that there is no way to earn money but to beg and this is the reason the rate of beggars are increasing rapidly. This is why , it is very significant for the youngsters also, to save money little by little so that it can help them in times when they need the most.
Secondly, the youth today is very much glamourized by the notion of luxury, wearing expensive clothes and living in large houses ,because of this they are not being able to save for the hard hour. They only think that this is the life they deserve by causing troubles to their parents by asking them for money again and again and to fulfil their needs, whether they are important or not. This is the reality of most of the families in the world wo are struggling for themselves.
In my conclusion, I think that it is a basic responsibility of youngsters to save money for the future, as in this way they may not be able to lay hands in front of other people to complete their basic necessity of life and in order to live a simple and peaceful life is the luxury nobody talks about.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of saving money for young people and expresses a clear position in agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies on exaggerated generalisations, such as claiming that failing to save leads directly to begging. While the main stance is maintained, the arguments lack depth and academic maturity, which places the response securely in Band 5.0. To improve, you should explore more realistic and constructive arguments regarding financial security, such as investing for education, housing, or retirement, rather than focusing on extreme scenarios.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitional markers like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' which are not always followed by smooth logical flows. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'whether they are important or not' and 'struggling for themselves.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks flexibility and natural control. This performance aligns with Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include 'bad times' instead of 'hard times' or 'financial emergencies', 'glamourized by the notion', and 'lay hands in front of other people'. There are also awkward expressions like 'rate of beggars are increasing'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic message, these frequent lexical errors restrict the score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences frequently result in errors. There are numerous punctuation errors, such as incorrect spacing around commas ('everyone ,as well as, youngsters'), run-on sentences, and fragment errors ('In recent years. saving money...'). Grammatical inaccuracies like 'the rate of beggars are increasing' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'wo are struggling' (spelling/typographical error) cause frequent difficulty for the reader and impede smooth reading. This corresponds to a Band 5.0.
