Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued by everyone ,including young people  , should save money for their future . I strongly agreed this view beacuse saving money can provide finncial security and help young people deal with unexpexted situations .

First of all , saving money from young age can help people become financially independent . Young people may not have many responsibilities at their beginning of their careers , so they can put a small amount  aside of their regularly inome . Over time ,these savings become a useful financial reserve . For example , A young person who saves part of their salary every month may eventually have enough money to pay for higher education  , buy a car , or start a business without depending heavily on their family .

Another important reason is that having savings can protect people from unexpected expenses . life is unpreditable , and people may suddenly need money for medical treatment , unemployment , repairs , or other emergencies . If they have not savings , they may have to borrow moneyy or relay on others . Therefore, developing the habit of svaing can reduce financial stress and give people greater peace of mind .

However , this does not mean that young people should save all their money and avoid spreading it . They also need to enjoy their lives , develop their skills , and spend money of useful experinces . Th key is to maintain a reasonable balance betweeen present nedds and future security .

In concluion , I strongly agree that young people should save money for their future . Although they should enjoy their present life , developing good saving habits and make them more indepentdent and better prepared for unexpected financial difficulties.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The student addresses all parts of the prompt, taking a clear and well-supported stance that young people should save money. The position is maintained throughout the response. Ideas are extended and supported appropriately, such as mentioning specific examples like paying for higher education, buying a car, or starting a business. The third paragraph correctly acknowledges counter-arguments about balancing present needs and future security, showing good extension of ideas. The response meets all the requirements of Task Achievement for Band 7, as the task is fully addressed with a clear position and relevant, well-supported ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response presents a clear overall progression and logical organization throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct central topic, starting with an introduction of the writer's position, followed by body paragraphs exploring financial independence and unexpected expenses, a counter-perspective paragraph, and a clear concluding summary. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Another important reason', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader, although spacing issues before punctuation marks occasionally make the text look unpolished. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, earning a solid Band 6.5 to 7.0 range, comfortably sitting at a Band 7.0 for clear logical sequencing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'financial reserve', 'independent', and 'unexpected expenses'. However, there are several spelling and typographical errors throughout the text, including 'finncial', 'unexpexted', 'inome', 'unpreditable', 'moneyy', 'relays', 'svaing', 'experinces', 'nedds', 'concluion', and 'indepentdent'. Additionally, awkward phrasing like 'spreading it' instead of spending it on other things appears. These lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at conditional structures and relative clauses (e.g., 'A young person who saves part of their salary every month may eventually have enough money...'). There are, however, several grammatical and punctuation errors, such as 'I strongly agreed this view beacuse...' (agreement and spelling), 'saving money from young age', and irregular spacing around commas and periods. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout. The variety of structures combined with frequent error-free sentences supports a Band 6.0 score.
