Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often argued by everyone including young people , should save money for their future. I agreed this view because saving money can provide financial security and help young people deal with unexpected situations .
First of all , saving money from a young age can help people become financially independent . Young people may not have many responsibilities at the beginning of their careers , so they can put a small amount aside regularly income . Over time ,these savings become a useful financial reserve . For example , a young person who saves part of their salary every month may eventually have enough money to pay for higher education , buy a car, or start a business without depending heavily on their family .
Another important reason is that having savings can protect people from unexpected expenses . life is unpredictable , and people may suddenly need money for medical treatment , unemployment , repairs , or other emergencies . If they have no savings , they may have to borrow money or rely on others . Therefore, developing the habit of saving can reduce financial stress and give people greater peace of mind .
However , this does not mean that young people should save all their money and avoid spending it . They also need to enjoy their lives , develop their skills , and spend money on useful experiences . The key is to maintain a reasonable balance between present needs and future security .
In conclusion , I strongly agree that young people should save money for their future . Although they should enjoy their present life , developing good saving habits can make them more independent and better prepared for unexpected financial difficulties.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating a position agreeing with the prompt and exploring both financial security and unexpected situations. The ideas are well-developed and supported with relevant examples, such as paying for higher education or starting a business. The writer successfully maintains a clear position throughout, acknowledging counter-arguments regarding enjoyment while firmly reinforcing the central thesis in the conclusion. The task is handled comprehensively, and the arguments flow naturally from the introduction to the final summary, satisfying the requirements for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct central topic, starting with financial independence and moving on to unexpected expenses. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Another important reason', and 'However' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately. While referencing and cohesive links are generally well managed, some minor punctuation habits around the cohesive markers are slightly distracting. Nonetheless, the overall arrangement is coherent and easy to follow, supporting a solid Band 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary for flexibility and precision, incorporating terms like 'financial security', 'financially independent', 'financial reserve', and 'unpredictable'. There is an attempt to use less common items with an awareness of style and collocation, such as 'reduce financial stress' and 'peace of mind'. Although there are occasional minor lexical or punctuation errors—such as spacing issues around commas and phrases like 'regularly income' instead of 'regular income'—these do not impede communication. The vocabulary is adequate for the task and aligns well with the descriptors for a Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response features a good mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and relative structures such as 'a young person who saves part of their salary every month may eventually have enough money...' and 'If they have no savings, they may have to borrow money...'. There are frequent error-free sentences, demonstrating good control of grammar. However, there are a few persistent errors, such as 'I agreed this view' instead of 'agree', and spacing errors around commas. These grammatical slips do not impede communication, placing the writing comfortably at a Band 6.5.
