Student answer (Band 5.5)

Saving money for future is important for younger generation is most agreed statement of all time. But in my opinion it depands on the need of a person. Like i have mixed circle of friends. There are all type of individuals from Upper class to lower class. usualy my uapper class of friends are less interested in saving money. They have mind set that money will nothing but return of an investment. If you invest in a good source it will come back to you with a break even or in profitable way.

On the other side my middel class friends are more focused on savings rather then spending even for their must needed things. They have the saying that we will do it one day. They are more likely in saving then spending or investing. They wants to play it safe all the time. Where my upper class friends are like to spending and investing.

So from my practile life i can finally conclude that statement with my own thought which i belive and try to obey. So i think all the individuals should maintain 3 types of sccount one is for spending, secound is for saving and third one if for investing. Everyone should splite their income into three part where from one part they can spend from one third of the income, with the last two parts should keep for investment and saving. I always try to splite my income into 3 parts. Because i belive that spending is not always a weast of money some times it give us more plasure then saving. So younger generation should give importence to saving money parallely with investing. They should not kill there childhood desiear thinking more about future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether young people should save money, presenting a clear position that it depends on individual needs and circumstances. The student attempts to develop ideas through personal examples, such as contrasting upper-class and middle-class friends, and proposes a practical framework of dividing income into three accounts for spending, saving, and investing. However, the ideas tend to be somewhat anecdotal and lack the broader conceptual extension typically expected at higher bands. The conclusion offers a synthesis of the writer's perspective, but overall, the task is addressed with some under-developed supporting arguments, aligning best with a Band 6.0 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible progression of ideas, moving from the introduction of the topic to social class contrasts and finally to a personal financial strategy. Paragraphing is used to group related thoughts, although transitions between paragraphs can feel somewhat abrupt. Cohesive devices are occasionally mechanical or misused, as seen in phrases like 'On the other side' and 'Where my upper class friends are like to spending'. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical flow suffers from repetitive sentence structures and a lack of smooth transitional phrasing. This performance sits firmly within the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, warranting a 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey basic arguments about social classes and saving habits. However, the range is limited and contains numerous word choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'depands', 'mixed circle of friends', 'uapper class', 'practile life', and 'weast of money'. Attempts to use less common items often result in inaccuracies, and spelling mistakes are frequent ('splite', 'secound', 'belive', 'importence', 'parallely', 'desiear'). Because these lexical errors occasionally distract the reader without completely impeding communication, the response matches the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but the text is heavily impacted by frequent grammatical errors in almost every sentence. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('money will nothing but', 'They wants'), incorrect verb forms ('are like to spending'), and awkward clause structures ('So from my practile life i can finally conclude that statement with my own thought which i belive and try to obey'). Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent. While meaning is generally recoverable, the high frequency of errors across basic and complex structures restricts the score to Band 5.0.
