Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt regarding whether everyone, including young people, should save money for the future. The writer presents a clear position that people should save due to future uncertainties. However, the development of ideas is limited, repetitive, and restricted by the brevity and simplicity of the arguments provided. Key assertions, such as mentioning people buying homes or firms saving profits, are introduced briefly without sufficient extension or detailed examples. This aligns with Band 5, where ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, and the overall task response lacks comprehensive elaboration.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay attempts some basic structural organisation, including paragraph breaks ('On the one hand', 'On other hand', 'to conculation'), which signals the general flow of a discursive essay. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear due to very disjointed sentences and faulty referencing. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, and the paragraphing does not always serve to guide the reader smoothly through a logical argument. For instance, the conclusion is abrupt and difficult to parse. These features are characteristic of Band 5, where there is some organisation, but overall progression is absent or difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used throughout the essay is very basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that frequently impede communication. Examples include 'dranguros sutuation' (dangerous situation), 'signifcant' (significant), 'monet' (money), 'isaw' (I saw), 'miss happened' (misfortune happened), 'soft coution' (safety cushion), 'proprity' (priority), 'usless' (useless), 'welethy persion' (wealthy person), and 'father' (further). The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate at best, featuring noticeable errors that cause difficulty for the reader. This falls squarely into the Band 4 to Band 5 range, leaning towards a Band 4.5, which rounds to 4.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text is plagued by severe structural issues, run-on sentences, incorrect verb forms, and punctuation errors. Examples include 'While some individual believe that save money for future , on the other hand several people consider ...', 'in my point of view people should save money for future because future is uncertain , so saving will help ...', and 'They also think that if you have money than spend this to buy more things ...'. There is a very limited range of accurate structures, and complex sentence attempts are consistently faulty. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning, matching the criteria for Band 4.
