Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is important for everyone to save money for their future including the young people as well because money is an important thing in everyone's life and in this today's world it is difficult to survive without money.
I am totally in the favour of this statement and we should make our younger generation to understand the importance of saving money because you learn quicker when you are young and when they see their parents saving money so they adopt this thing and it can help them in their future.
Saving money for future has many benefits like if your child wants to persue higher studies you will have funds to bear his/her expendicure. Similarly, if you or your relative unfortunately got into an accident and that particular person has to go through a surgery or operation, you will have money to afford this.
For example, when my father got into an accident and he needed an urgent operation but the government funded hospital staff was too busy looking into other patients so we admitted him in the private hospital and the operation went well. It was expensive but my father have savings which we spent at that time.
Some people also thought that we only live once so why not enjoy our life rather than saving money for the future and I think there is no wrong in thinking like this because you work hard to make money and you have every right to do whatever you want from your money but what if you somehow lost your job and you donot have enough saving to survive until finding another job.
In conclusion, I will say that spending money is not wrong but do spend on things which your basic needs and avoid overspending. Make sure you have enough money saved for your future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position throughout in strong agreement with the statement. The writer extends and supports ideas with relevant examples, such as the personal anecdote regarding a father's medical emergency and the need for medical funding. While some supporting points, like the discussion of alternative viewpoints in the fifth paragraph, are slightly generalised, the main arguments regarding financial security, education, and unexpected emergencies are adequately developed. The ideas are relevant and support the overall thesis effectively, meeting the criteria for Band 6.5 to 7.0. Given the clarity of the position and the practical examples provided, a band score of 6.5 is appropriate for fully addressing the prompt while maintaining a consistent stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas from the introduction through body paragraphs to the conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, although some paragraphs are overly long and contain multiple distinct ideas, such as the blending of education and medical expenses in the third paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, though they are at times repetitive or somewhat mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'and' to chain clauses together and phrases like 'Similarly' and 'For example'. Referencing is generally clear, but the lack of varied transitional markers prevents the text from achieving a higher band score. Overall, the organisation is clear enough to guide the reader smoothly, warranting a band score of 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting some less common items and phrasal concepts such as 'financial security', 'higher studies', and 'overspending'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'persue' (pursue), 'expendicure' (expenditure), 'got into an accident' (sustained an accident), and 'my father have savings' (has savings). Spelling errors like 'donot' and 'persue' also occur. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical score. The vocabulary demonstrates sufficient flexibility for basic communication but lacks the precision required for higher bands, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures such as 'if your child wants to persue higher studies you will have funds'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, particularly run-on sentences linked excessively with conjunctions like 'and' in the opening and second paragraphs. Errors such as 'young people as well because money is...' and 'what if you somehow lost your job and you donot have enough saving' demonstrate a lack of reliable control over complex structures. Punctuation is largely absent between independent clauses. Because errors persist and affect readability in places, the appropriate band score is 5.5.
