Student answer (Band 6.0)
Saving money for the future is one of the most important thing everyone, icluding younger people should do. I agree with the statement to some extent, depending, saving shouldn't literally means not enjoying life.
One of the main reasons of saving is the need of money during the retired age. Once a person gets old, he won't be able to earn as much as he can, when he is an adult and healthy. Not every job and country provide pension, so one cannnot fully rely on it during their after years. Also, with ageing, the individual tends to decline in their health. With advancement in the healthcare system, the expense for the same has increased significantly, therefore saving is handful during those harder circumstances.
At the same time, enjoying life to the fullest is also equally important. One should not always earn to save for future, as life is very unpredictable, and will never know, if will be able to use the saved money, as he might not be there to use those. For instance, some people have a mentality that when young, should only work hard, save for future to spend and enjoy, once retired. As an adult, along with focusing on career, one should always take time to travel, invest some in their passion, so one wouldn't regret during their retirement or the time if they got diagnosed with some life-ending conditons, like cancer.
To conclude, I would say, everyone should make a balanced budget, personalised to their salary and needs, which can include monthy spendings including groceries, rent, leisure and an amount to be saved, that way a person is enjoyig and saving, both at the same time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position agreeing to some extent with the proposition that everyone should save money. The response develops relevant ideas regarding retirement and healthcare expenses, alongside counter-arguments on enjoying life. However, some ideas feel slightly conversational or lack deeper extension. For instance, the discussion on balancing savings with leisure is somewhat generalised. The position is maintained throughout the essay and supported with everyday examples, such as travelling and managing personal budgets, fitting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with logical paragraphing. Each paragraph serves a distinct purpose, moving from the introduction to the retirement argument, the counter-argument about enjoying life, and a balanced conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as 'At the same time' and 'To conclude'. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional minor slip-ups in pronoun agreement or phrasing occur. Overall, the logical progression is clear throughout, which aligns well with a Band 6.0 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'unpredictable', 'healthcare system', and 'personalised'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'icluding' instead of 'including', 'retired age' instead of 'retirement age', 'cannnot', and 'monthy'. Furthermore, some collocations are awkward, such as 'saving is handful'. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The student attempts complex structures using conditional and dependent clauses, such as 'Once a person gets old, he won't be able to earn as much as he can...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including pronoun shifts ('he', 'they', 'one'), comma splices, and awkward phrasing ('saving shouldn't literally means not enjoying life'). Despite these recurring errors, they rarely impede communication, allowing the writer to secure a Band 6.0.
