Student answer (Band 5.0)
I totally agree with the statement that young people have to save the money for the future.
The world is developing in its own pace and the more it advances the more is the requirement of the money. So basically i think being financially stable is the one of the most important thing a person should considered in this generation. With the advancement in both technology and science, people are also more attracted to the luxeries and for all these it is important to have a good source of income. even the basic needs of people have advanced as they wish for the luxeries. so it is important that people especially the young people should start to save money for their own better future.
For instance to afford a good medical services and good eductation facilities there is a certain requirement of money. so if the young people didn't start to save money today they will definately be unable to live a better life in future or will not even be able to afford even a basic needs of their own and their families. The luxeries and branded items can have the good values today but they will not help you to build your future. So to all the young people i would suggest to save money for your better future and for your own well being. And it is better to live a simple life now and secure a very bright future than living a best life in the young days and regretting it it future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that young people should save money for their future. The ideas presented are generally relevant, discussing aspects such as technological advancement, the rising cost of living, and the need to afford basic needs and medical services. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and limited, lacking deep elaboration or specific real-world examples beyond broad generalisations about luxuries and basic needs. Phrases like 'the world is developing in its own pace' indicate a somewhat generalised approach to the topic. While the main stance is maintained throughout, the support remains at a surface level, preventing the response from reaching higher bands. It aligns best with a Band 5.5 to 6 descriptor, where relevant ideas are presented but remain somewhat under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear initial stance and concluding thoughts. However, paragraphing is poorly handled, as the body of the essay is compressed into an overly dense block of text rather than being broken down into logical paragraphs for distinct points. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'so' and 'and'. Referencing within the text is occasionally unclear, such as 'for all these it is important', where the antecedent is broad. While there is a logical progression of thought from introducing the argument to giving reasons and a conclusion, the lack of proper paragraphing and occasional mechanical cohesion limit the score to a Band 5.5 or 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'financially stable', 'advancement', and 'well being'. However, there are notable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'save the money' (instead of 'save money'), 'in its own pace' (instead of 'at its own pace'), and 'luxeries' (spelling error). Furthermore, repetition of words like 'money', 'future', and 'luxeries' restricts the lexical flexibility. The errors in spelling and collocation do not severely impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent the response from achieving a Band 7. It sits comfortably at a Band 5.5, reflecting an adequate yet limited vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures with clauses like 'even the basic needs of people have advanced as they wish for the luxeries'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including missing articles ('is the one of the most important thing'), incorrect pronoun use ('i' instead of 'I'), subject-verb agreement issues ('services... is'), and awkward phrasing ('didn't start to save money today they will definately be unable'). Punctuation is also weak, with run-on sentences and a lack of proper comma usage to separate clauses. These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty, though they rarely obscure the overall meaning entirely, placing the grammar at a Band 5.0.
