Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether everyone, including young people, should save money for the future. A position is presented, and some relevant ideas are introduced, such as financial security during unexpected emergencies like medical bills. However, the development of ideas is limited and disjointed. For instance, the transition into personal anecdotes about visiting Murree feels abrupt and is not fully tied back to the core argument about future savings. The response tends to over-generalise and lacks cohesive elaboration in several parts, leaving some arguments under-developed. These limitations place this response firmly in Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
There is an attempt at paragraphing, but the overall organization and logical progression are frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are often used inappropriately or mechanically, such as 'Firstly and foremost thing is save the money' and 'Other side of peoples'. Referencing is also unclear in places, with pronoun confusion between singular and plural forms (e.g., 'young youth saving the cash for his upcoming future'). There is a lack of smooth transitions between sentences and ideas, which makes the progression hard to follow at times. Overall, the structural and cohesive weaknesses align with the Band 4 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary range is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include non-standard phrases like 'dreams money', 'future expensives', 'calm of heart', and 'dysfunctional factors'. There are also frequent word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'confered with some of my friends about a trip' and 'savor a stay'. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary, inaccuracies are pervasive and strain comprehension throughout the text, matching the criteria for Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are almost uniformly faulty. There are frequent, pervasive errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and punctuation. Examples include 'Discussion about saving money have long been ongoing', 'it is the crucial to build', 'Because the nobody see the coming days whats going on', and 'Last month i save the the 20 thousands'. These errors are dense throughout the response, frequently distorting meaning and causing significant difficulty for the reader, which corresponds to a Band 4 level.
