Student answer (Band 5.5)

It could be beneficial for adults or people in any age to save more financial assets rapidly, securing a promising future later on. I believe this notion must be highly acceptable because everyone must have a backup plan in case of any emergency or unforeseen incident.

Balancing the life is something we work for till our last breath and this is impossible to achieve. Not only young people but those who are in their teenage must consider making money as their ultimate goal besides the education. Financial independence not only provides us stability and better opportunities but also make us self-reliable and confident. For instance, we have seen many young entrepreneurs developing themselves in e-commerce while in their university times.

Similarly, we can purchase various health insurances, are able to invest in trading or buying stocks, covers medical and household utilities and spend on tours for our refreshment. On the contrary, by any chance if we lose our job, goes bankrupt in business or have undergone in an accident, our savings will help us to manage our responsibilities for the time being. We will not be dependent on someone else rather than we have the motivation or potential to start from the beginning again. In case of an unusual death, plenty of money will help our family to raise themselves. We have seen many children that are digital creators on platforms like Instagram, tiktok or youtube makes them independent of their family support for education, clothing, entertainment etc.

In the conclusion, I would agree that enough of the savings regardless of the age is quite essential and beneficial in almost every aspect of the life. Furthermore, for working hard to earn a substantial amount, age is never a hurdle. It depends on one's own-self to take the initiative.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing that everyone, including young people, should save money. The main ideas are relevant, such as financial independence, having a backup plan for emergencies, and managing unexpected life events. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or jump between disparate points, such as moving from health insurance and trading directly to job loss and then to digital creators. While the position is clear throughout and supported with examples like e-commerce and digital creators, greater depth and tighter linking to the prompt's core theme would elevate the response further. This corresponds to a Band 6.5 or 7.0, and here it fits comfortably into Band 6.5 due to the somewhat disjointed development of supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is generally coherent with a clear overall arrangement and identifiable paragraphs. The student attempts to use cohesive devices such as 'Balancing the life', 'Similarly', and 'On the contrary'. However, some cohesive links feel slightly mechanical or are used inaccurately, such as 'Balancing the life is something we work for till our last breath and this is impossible to achieve', which creates an awkward logical transition. Paragraphing is present, but the third paragraph is overly dense and bundles together too many distinct ideas (insurances, job loss, accidents, digital creators), which hinders logical progression. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence starting with 'rather than we have the motivation'. These limitations place the cohesion firmly at Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'financial assets', 'entrepreneurs', 'unforeseen incident', and 'substantial amount'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'save more financial assets rapidly', 'goes bankrupt in business', 'have undergone in an accident', and 'regardless of the age'. Additionally, there are awkward phrasings like 'Balancing the life'. Despite these errors, communication is not impeded, and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meanings, matching the Band 6 descriptor well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The student employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical errors occur with some frequency. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('youtube makes them'), incorrect prepositions ('undergone in an accident'), tense shifts ('losing our job, goes bankrupt'), and structural awkwardness ('rather than we have the motivation'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical slips are noticeable across the text and occasionally cause slight hesitation for the reader, though they rarely impede overall communication. This performance aligns with the Band 6 descriptors for grammatical range and accuracy.
