Student answer (Band 6.0)

I'm of the opinion that it's very important for everyone including young children to know how to preserve money for their future.

Money Is a very important tool in all areas of our life, without cash you won't be able to go to school, have access to good health care services, be there for your friends and loved ones or even live your best life.

Almost everyone is finding various means on how they can earn money even the younger ones.

But what is the essense of accumulating all of this wealth if individuals can't plan for their future, save money or invest their funds. When a person earns their first bulk money, they believe they have to lavish the money because another one is coming, but what if you loose your job or there is a new policy that requires you to leave the job, first you don't have any money saved, secondly you don't have any job to fall back on and you are back to zero. If you had taken 50% out of your salary that could sustain you for another couple of month while looking for a better job.

Most companies encourages the saving culture in order to prepare you for your retirement by keeping about 10% of your salary, so when you are about 60 years you can have access to this money while living the best of your life without working.

Young kids are also not left out because when you start investing your money as early as possible it becomes an habit and your wealth compounds as you grow, making you earn 3 times more than your normal money.

In conclusion, I'm in agreement that it's necessary that everyone including young and old should save for their future, so that they can enjoy the best out of life and not panick about loosing all of it or starting from scratch.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt directly, taking a clear stance that saving money for the future is vital for everyone, including young people. The writer introduces relevant reasons and examples, such as preparing for job loss, retirement planning, and building early financial habits. While the ideas are generally relevant, some points are slightly repetitive or underdeveloped, such as the general assertion about earning 'bulk money.' The position is maintained throughout, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well as it addresses all parts of the task, though development could be extended further for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat irregular, as there are many single-sentence paragraphs that fragment the flow of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes in a repetitive or mechanical way (e.g., 'first... secondly...'). Referencing is mostly clear, but transitions between paragraphs can be abrupt. Overall progression is visible, aligning with a Band 6 as the text is coherent overall despite faulty or mechanical cohesion in places.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items such as 'accumulating', 'invest', 'salary', and 'compounds'. However, there are noticeable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'essense' instead of 'essence', 'bulk money', and confusing 'loose' with 'lose'. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 6, where an adequate range is demonstrated alongside some spelling and word-choice errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over conditional and relative structures (e.g., 'If you had taken 50% out of your salary that could sustain you...'). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including comma splices ('Money Is a very important tool in all areas of our life, without cash you won't be able to...') and missing articles. While these errors do not heavily impede comprehension, they prevent the essay from achieving a Band 7.
