Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, the discussion of personal financial management, particularly, saving money, has gained increased attention, with many discussing its importance for individuals and broader economy. While some individuals commend that saving money for future is not much important, I firmly believe and agree with the topic that it is important for everyone to save money for their future. This essay will analyze the key aspects of saving money focusing on its importance for everyone.
By hook or crook, everyone should save money for their future and do not waste on the things that are not commendable. The benefits of saving money for utilizing in the future are clear as day. Ones should always aside a part of their income or fundings for saving. As far as i am concerned for saving my money, I always separate 10% of my income for saving purposes. A key advantage lies in it is that i find it a piece of cake to spend my expenditure on household, groceries, shopping and other purposes even after saving 10% of my income.
Once in a blue moon, very few people support the idea we should not save money for our future and spend all our money in present, however, I beg to differ this since saving money has no shortcomings under no circumstances. Saving money for future has many positive aspects for youngsters and older generation too as we are not aware of the future wether the conditions would be favourable or not.
All things considered, I maintain with my opinion that it is profoundly important for everyone to save their money for future. Albeit, if a person saves nothing for his future and his source of income gets lost, it will be disastrous for him. In summary, no one knows about their thick and thins, thus we should always save money for the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the statement that saving money is important for everyone. Main ideas are introduced, such as the benefits of financial preparedness and the uncertainty of the future. However, the development of these ideas tends to rely heavily on general assertions and repetition rather than deep expansion or specific, well-reasoned examples. For instance, the personal anecdote about saving ten percent of income is stated rather than thoroughly explored to strengthen the argument. While the stance is maintained consistently from the introduction to the conclusion, the overall depth of support places this response comfortably at Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement and logical progression, with clear signals marking the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, such as 'While some individuals commend...', 'A key advantage lies in...', and 'All things considered'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct points. However, cohesion is occasionally faulty or mechanical due to unnatural transitions and awkward phrasing, such as 'By hook or crook, everyone should save money'. Furthermore, referencing and pronoun use can be imprecise, as seen in the sentence 'A key advantage lies in it is that i find it a piece of cake...'. These issues prevent the cohesion from feeling fully natural or sophisticated, justifying a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a range of vocabulary and less common idiomatic expressions, such as 'clear as day', 'a piece of cake', 'once in a blue moon', and 'thick and thins'. While these attempts show ambition, their usage is often unnatural, clunky, or misapplied in an academic context—for example, using 'By hook or crook' or 'thick and thins' in a formal essay regarding personal finance. There are also notable lexical inaccuracies and awkward collocations, such as 'commend that saving money' instead of 'argue' or 'contend'. Because the vocabulary choices frequently clash with formal register and contain noticeable errors that detract from precision, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures and subordinate clauses, as seen in 'Albeit, if a person saves nothing for his future and his source of income gets lost, it will be disastrous for him.' However, control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward structures throughout the text, including 'wether the conditions would be favourable', 'do not waste on the things', and 'i beg to differ this since saving money has no shortcomings'. Additionally, capitalization errors such as lowercase 'i' occur multiple times. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they occur with sufficient frequency to prevent the score from reaching Band 6.0.
