Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is necessary for young people to save money for their future. I fully agree the statement, because saving money enable young people to acheive their dreams and also provide a safeside for unexpected problems.
Firstly, saving money enable a young person to achieve his dreams like buying a car or seting up a business or have a world tour or a study plan and whatever dream they have. It makes young people finnacially stable to support their dream. But if they do not save money, then it is difficult for them to achieve their dream by himself. For example, a young man save money and buy his dream car after 5 years and he can also setup small business after years of saving from his job. If he is a business man, saving money enables him to xpand his business.
Secondly, young people save money to keep safe and secure from any unexpected future problem. It also make them finnancially stable and independent on others. Instead of asking oney from others, he can use his savings to sought out the issue. For example, if a young man have saved some money and his phone get lost or damaged unexpectedly, he can buy a new phone immediately, But if he did not have any savings, it will be difficult for him to buy a new phone from his monthly salary.
In conclusion, it is evidenced that saving money enable young people to achieve their dreams or become safe from any unusual issue. It contribute to their better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response clearly addresses the prompt, taking a firm position of full agreement with the statement that young people should save money. The writer identifies two main supporting arguments: achieving dreams and providing a safety net for unexpected problems. These ideas are generally relevant and extended with examples, such as buying a car or replacing a lost phone. However, the development tends to be repetitive and somewhat simplistic, relying heavily on generalized statements rather than deep elaboration. For instance, the explanation of achieving dreams lists several items without fully exploring any single consequence. This places the response comfortably at Band 6, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some parts are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement with a distinct introduction, two body paragraphs featuring sequencing markers (Firstly, Secondly), and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. There are repetitive use of basic cohesive patterns, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun usage in 'by himself' referring to 'young people'. Additionally, transitions between sentences can feel abrupt. These features demonstrate the characteristics of Band 6, where the essay maintains overall coherence despite mechanical cohesive devices and occasional referencing flaws.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate straightforward ideas about saving money, financial stability, and unexpected problems. However, there is a noticeable presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'acheive', 'finnaicial', 'seting', 'xpander', 'sought out' instead of 'sort out') and minor word-choice inaccuracies (e.g., 'provide a safeside'). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'finnacially stable' and 'unexpected', but these attempts are marred by consistent spelling slips. The range is sufficient for the task and communication is not impeded, fitting the Band 6 descriptor where an adequate range is displayed alongside some spelling and word-choice errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures and relative clauses (e.g., 'if they do not save money, then it is difficult for them...', 'if a young man have saved...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly involving subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'saving money enable', 'a young man save money', 'if a young man have saved') and missing articles or prepositions. While these errors occur regularly, they rarely impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout. This balance of mixed structures and frequent non-impeding errors aligns well with the requirements for Band 6.
