Student answer (Band 5.0)

In these days, many people believe that saving money for the future is a crucial task for everyone, including yonger adults. I firmy agree with this statement, and i believe it is an important duty for any individual, as no one knows what future holds for each person.

It is obvious that money plays important role in my aspects of life, and can influece mjority of events that can happen in our lifes.

One of the most impotant reason for saving money is to combat many obstacles related to financial situations. Many people save money to obtain better oppertunities they may gain in the future, for example in many less developed countries parents often save a decent amount of their income in order to provide study fees of their children. Eventually, they will be comfortable to secure more conviniet future for their offsprings.

Addtional reason for my stance is that , nowadays many people are suffering from different kinds of health related problems which are caused by recent environmental issues such as air pollution, in order to obtain better quality of life many people migrate to wealthier countries to combat such issues, hence they save money to get a decent life.

Other reason for this trend is previous economical state of particular country, especially contries which were suffured from insufficient labour workers and those which were experienced war .Such problems often made people to be aware and have concern about repetation of such events in the future. Hence, to fasilitate any situation they may face, they prefer to save money.

In conclusion, it is important for every members of society to play significant role in saving money and combating problem in future that can be solved with money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position of strong agreement and providing relevant reasons to support it. The writer presents several arguments, such as combating financial obstacles, dealing with health-related issues, and preparing for economic instability. While the ideas are relevant, some of the arguments are somewhat under-developed and lack extension. For instance, the point regarding migration due to environmental issues is introduced but not fully connected back to the core theme of saving money. Similarly, the paragraph discussing the economic state of a country is overly generalised and difficult to follow in places due to expression issues. Nevertheless, a clear stance is maintained throughout the response, satisfying the requirements for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the body paragraphs are separated logically. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently faulty or mechanical. The student attempts to use cohesive devices such as 'Addtional reason for my stance is that' and 'Other reason for this trend', but these contain spelling errors and mechanical phrasing. Paragraphing is present, but referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'such events' and 'any situation'. Furthermore, the transitional flow between sentences can be abrupt. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for an overall coherent flow, placing this performance at Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'crucial task', 'obstacles', and 'insufficient labour workers'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('yonger', 'firmy', 'influece', 'mjority', 'lifes', 'impotant', 'oppertunities', 'conviniet', 'offsprings', 'Addtional', 'economical', 'contries', 'suffured', 'repetation', 'fasilitate') and word choice inaccuracies ('study fees' instead of 'tuition fees', 'economical state' instead of 'economic state'). These errors do not seriously impede communication because the writer's meaning remains largely clear, but the density of spelling and collocation slips prevents the score from reaching Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often accompanied by errors. There are frequent mistakes with articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'what future holds', 'plays important role', 'in my aspects', and 'every members of society'. Punctuation errors are also present, notably the unnecessary space before the comma in 'is that , nowadays'. While simple sentences are generally controlled, complex sentences tend to introduce inaccuracies. However, grammar and punctuation errors rarely impede overall communication. This performance aligns well with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
