Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is increasingly argued that it is essential that people across all ages, especially younger individual, put money aside for their future needs. While I acknowledge that young people often have less stable incomes, so emergency fund prevent them from going into debt early in life. I do not believe that this view can be applied universally. In my view, we should save money according to our income.

To begin with , there are several compelling reasons why it is important for everyone, especially young people, to save money for their future can be consider valid. First and foremost, saving money can give you protection during unexpected situation. In other words, when we save money, it can help individual for basic health care facilities. This is significant because nowadays, health problems are unexpected. A pertinent example of this can be seen in year 2019, where most of people lost there job. In this type of situation saving money can help you to become independent. Consequently, less dependent on others. Furthermore, another noteworthy consideration is that saving money can let you achieve important future goal. This is largely be attributed to fact that saving money can help younger generation for their higher study in university. Many business require initial investment, so for that you have to save money. As a result, young generation become less dependent on parents or others. Equally importantly, if younger generation start saving money in early age then this become habit which definitely help in further journey of their lives.

Nevertheless, the aforementioned arguments has certain limitation that warrant careful consideration. The most compelling counterargument is that young people also need to enjoy their present life. This is primarily because this is the age where young people don't have family responsibility, so they can enjoy their life without tension. Moreover, inflation can be consider a valid reason. It can reduce purchasing power.

In conclusion, although I conclude that saving money is the best way to protect your family, I remain convinced that young people should enjoy their lives. Ultimately, the validity of this view depends largely on how much you spend and how much you save.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether everyone, especially young people, should save money for the future. You present a clear position in the introduction and conclusion, acknowledging some benefits of saving while arguing that it depends on income and that young people should also enjoy the present. Your ideas are relevant and generally supported with explanations, such as mentioning unexpected health situations, job loss in 2019, and funding higher education. However, some arguments lack full development or slip into generalization, such as the brief mentions of inflation and present enjoyment without deeper expansion. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a solid Band 6.5, leaning towards Band 7 for covering multiple perspectives.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is coherent overall with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. You make use of standard cohesive devices and transition markers such as 'To begin with', 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', 'Nevertheless', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing is somewhat hindered by a very long, single second body paragraph that tries to encompass multiple distinct ideas (emergencies, higher education, and habit-formation), making the structure unbalanced. Additionally, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some sentences feature faulty cohesion or grammatical links, such as 'This is largely be attributed to fact that...', which places this criterion firmly at Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully attempting less common items and academic phrases such as 'compelling reasons', 'unexpected situation', 'initial investment', and 'purchasing power'. However, there are noticeable lexical and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'younger individual' instead of 'individuals', 'lost there job' instead of 'their jobs', 'higher study' instead of 'higher studies' or 'higher education', and awkward phrasing like 'in early age' instead of 'at an early age'. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the score to Band 6 due to recurring word-choice and grammatical-form inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and frequent errors persist. Examples of errors include subject-verb agreement issues like 'saving money... can be consider valid' and 'the aforementioned arguments has certain limitation', missing articles ('in year 2019', 'at early age'), and awkward dependent clause structures such as 'this is largely be attributed to fact that'. While these errors rarely completely obscure your meaning, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Punctuation also exhibits minor flaws, such as spacing before commas.
