In contemporary era, having a secure future by saving enough money is very important for the future. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout the essay agreeing that saving money is important. The ideas are relevant and supported with explanations, such as preparing for medical emergencies and purchasing a home at a younger age. However, some ideas are repetitive or under-developed, particularly in the third body paragraph where the points regarding debt and early financial discipline overlap. Furthermore, there are minor issues with task focus as some examples are slightly generalised. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 6.0 as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some areas require deeper extension and clearer support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body points, and conclusion adequately. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitional phrases like 'To continue with benefits of saving money are' and 'In contemporary era'. Referencing and logical progression within paragraphs occasionally break down due to repetitive structures and grammatical inaccuracies. For instance, the transition between ideas in the second paragraph feels abrupt. While the essay is readable and follows a logical structure, the repetitive use of connective phrases and flawed cohesive devices places this response securely at Band 5.5 to 6.0. Band 6.0 is awarded as the overall organization functions well enough despite the mechanical links.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'unforeseen emergencies', 'down payment', and 'money management habits'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'every young age' instead of 'a young age', 'expenses of medical treatment is too to afford', and 'how are saving money' instead of 'who are saving money'. Spelling and word-form errors, such as 'cricis' for crisis and 'teaches' for teach, occasionally occur. Because the vocabulary range is sufficient to convey the central message despite these errors, the lexical resource aligns with Band 5.5, rounded to Band 6.0 based on positive marking principles for communicative success.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors present throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the price of housing is increases'), article omissions ('in medical emergency', 'plays very vital role'), and awkward phrasing like 'saving money prevents borrowing money from their family members and their close ones. By which they will not have the stress...'. These errors can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, although they rarely completely impede communication. Because complex structures are often faulty and errors are frequent, the appropriate descriptor matches Band 5.0.
