Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position of agreement regarding the importance of saving money for the future. The writer attempts to support this viewpoint with reasons, such as handling unforeseen circumstances and the financial habits of young adults. However, the development of ideas is limited, repetitive, and occasionally drifts into vague generalisations or irrelevant filler sentences, such as 'Therefore, it is important to understand these aspects befaore reaching a final conclusion.' While the main parts of the task are touched upon, the arguments lack depth and clear supporting evidence, aligning best with a Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, showing some overall structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, repetitive phrasing, and unclear referencing. For example, cohesive devices are often inaccurate or mechanically applied, as seen in the phrase 'To begin with, one of the main reasons behinds this statement is people when they have mobney then they prefer to save...' Additionally, pronoun referencing is weak, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs is often strained. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5 category, characterised by inadequate and repetitive cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words and phrases such as 'save money', 'future', and 'people'. There are numerous noticeable word-choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'forthcoming period', 'thier', 'unuseless things', 'mobney', 'befaore', 'poitive', and 'condiotios'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary, inaccuracies in collocation and formation are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, though the general message can still be discerned. This performance matches the descriptors for Band 4, where basic vocabulary and frequent errors are prominent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most complex sentence attempts are faulty, incomplete, or grammatically confused, resulting in frequent errors that severely distort meaning and hinder comprehension. Examples include 'I totally agree people save money for thier future after then they used' and 'both condiotios od saving the money is very essential nowadys because government should not provide facilities then people want to chose save the money.' Simple sentences also contain basic agreement and tense errors. Because errors are extremely frequent and frequently impede communication, this falls under Band 4.
