Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of saving money for young people and expressing a clear position of agreement. Main ideas are presented, such as avoiding future debt and the role of schools and parents in teaching financial literacy. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and shifts abruptly between general arguments and personal anecdotes, such as mentioning 'my uncle's daughter got married'. While the prompt's requirements are covered, the support for the position lacks full extension in places, placing this response securely in the Band 6 category where relevant ideas are presented but remain slightly under-developed or jumpy in progression.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to organise ideas into paragraphs. However, paragraphing and logical progression are occasionally disjointed. For instance, sentences like 'As a parents if they sucessed...' run into one another awkwardly, and the transitions between ideas lack smoothness. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or missing entirely, leading to run-on sentences and punctuation errors, such as comma splices ('...simplify life,it also contribute...'). Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow of ideas often feels abrupt. This aligns with the Band 6 descriptor where cohesion is sometimes faulty and referencing is not always clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'debt-free lifestylle', 'fixed deposit account', and 'financial literacy'. However, there are notable spelling and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'benificial', 'sucessed', 'childern's', and 'implented'. Collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'money preserving culture'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they reflect the limitations characteristic of Band 6, where the vocabulary is adequate but contains noticeable errors in spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'We never know what comes next in terms of health, work or any global situations.' However, there is a high frequency of grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('this really help youths', 'As a parents if they sucessed'), article usage, and punctuation. Many sentences suffer from structural issues and comma splices. Because the errors occur frequently and occasionally require the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning, the response fits the Band 5 profile, where attempts at complex structures are often faulty and frequent errors cause some difficulty.
