Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that saving money for future is important for everyone, including adults. I completely agree with this point as they can utilize this money in future for their goal achievement and emergencies.
One main reason why i agree with, everyone saving money for future is that it can be helpful for them to achieve their goals. People can have different goals, ranging from building a high profit business to early retirement and having enough savings for their kids education, saving money can help them achieve these goals. People don't really have to take loans from banks if they have got enough savings, as it will put unneccesary pressure on them. For example, one can start a business with his savings while not have to worry about bank interests which can put an unnecessary stress on any individual.
Another significant reason why i agree with people saving money for future is that they can deal with their emergencies with those savings. These emergencies may include different diseases, loss in business, credit card loans or any home repairs. With enough savings in hand people can deal with these emergencies without borrowing loans from their relatives or friends. For example, our teacher's house was completely destroyed in a hurricane, however she had enough savings to buy a new house instead of becoming homeless.
In conclusion,I completely agree with people saving money for future as it can fulfil their future goals and help them cope with all kind of emergencies without having stress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that saving money is important for everyone, including young people. The introduction states this stance, and two main supporting body paragraphs develop relevant ideas, such as goal achievement and handling emergencies. For example, the student explains how savings help individuals avoid bank loans for starting businesses and provides a concrete personal example regarding recovering from property damage. However, some ideas remain slightly repetitive or under-developed, and the conclusion simply restates the thesis without adding broader perspective. This places the performance firmly in the Band 6 territory, as all parts of the prompt are addressed with relevant ideas, but further extension and depth are needed for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and repetitive, heavily relying on phrases like 'One main reason why i agree with...' and 'Another significant reason why i agree with...'. Referencing is occasionally slightly loose, and lowercase 'i' pronouns detract from the overall polish of the text. Progression is visible, but the overuse of formulaic transitional structures prevents the essay from achieving a higher band score. Overall, the organizational structure is logical and easy to follow, supporting a Band 6 rating.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-related terms such as 'retirement', 'savings', 'emergencies', and 'investments'. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, but these are occasionally marred by word choice or spelling errors, such as 'unneccesary' instead of 'unnecessary' and the awkward phrasing 'goal achievement'. While communication is never impeded and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main arguments clearly, the presence of these errors and the lack of sophisticated, flexible phrasing limit the score to a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over conditional and relative clauses, such as 'People don't really have to take loans from banks if they have got enough savings'. However, there are noticeable grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. These include missing capitalization on the pronoun 'i', punctuation errors such as a missing space after a full stop ('friends. For example'), and occasional awkward phrasing like 'while not have to worry'. Despite these errors, the structures used do not impede communication. The presence of frequent minor errors alongside a mixed range of structures justifies a Band 6.
