Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely believed that some people, including younger generation should save money for their upcoming days. I firmly agree with this view beacuse habit of savings provide financial security and help people to achieve their future goals.
One important reason why people should save money is that it can protect them from unexpected financial difficulties. People may suddenly loss their job, become unable work or face expensive medical or household costs. If they have some savings, it will help them to solve problems and get some relief. For example, a young employee who manage to save certain amount from his salary may be able to balance thier life for several months if they unexpectedly lose their job.
Another reason is that saving in early age can help people to get their long-term goals. Young people may start their own business, can buy home in early, settle their life ans can happily throughout their lifetime. Further young generation can help their families by their saving, also can get quality education on their desire field. In addition, young people who lear to save money from early age can develop good financial discipline and stop unnecessary spending.
Some people argue that young should enjoy their money because they have fewer responsibilities and plenty of time to earn in the future, while they should explore different places by thier money, buy trending goods and donot think much about future. However, saving doesnot means avoiding all entertainment; rather, people can divide their their income between necessary expenses, enjoyment and savings.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that everyone, including young people, should save money for the better and secure future. Savings can provide protection against unexpected problems and help people to achieve their goals. Therefore, developing this habit at an early age can be beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position throughout regarding whether young people should save money. Main ideas are introduced, such as financial security and achieving long-term goals, and supported with relevant examples like a young employee losing a job. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the points about helping families and obtaining quality education in the third paragraph remain somewhat general and lack specific expansion. This demonstrates the characteristics of fully satisfying the requirements of a lower band while touching upon the features of a higher one.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used logically to separate different arguments, including a counter-argument paragraph starting with 'Some people argue that young should enjoy their money'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or slightly faulty, such as repetitive referencing patterns ('Another reason is', 'In addition') and occasional awkward transitions. This reflects a structure that is well-organised overall, yet lacks the seamless progression and flexible cohesive management of a higher tier.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'financial security', 'unexpected financial difficulties', and 'financial discipline'. However, there are notable word choice, word form, and spelling errors that occasionally surface, such as 'beacuse', 'savings' used instead of 'saving' as a verb form in places, 'loss' instead of 'lose', 'at early age' missing an article, and 'doesnot means'. These inaccuracies indicate a limited flexibility in lexical control, restricting the writing to a band where vocabulary is minimally adequate and contains noticeable slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement problems like 'young employee who manage', missing articles such as 'in early age' or 'buy home', incorrect prepositions like 'on their desire field', and tense or auxiliary errors such as 'donot think'. These errors are noticeable and occur with enough regularity to place the grammatical control at this specific level, where simple structures are generally more reliable than attempted complex ones.
