Student answer (Band 5.0)
Money is an crucial thing for us at present time. Without money, we can't buy anything. Many people have much money but it is a matter of sorrow that they use that money. People including young people should save their money for their future. Such as: If they don't save money for their future, and they are at stake in future, they would suffer from many problems because they would have not money at that time and they hadn't save money previously. So, all should save money for their because they don't know what will happen in future. People should also save money for their children's futures. The money wll be used for their education, healthcare, and for many facilities. If anytime the family suffer from financial issue, the money that they saved previously that will help run their children's education and the family properly. If any student wants to read abroad, the money that their parents saved in the past that will help maintain the huge cost of reading abroad. We can help any of our relatives, friends or familiar persons by helping financially when they are at stake. When any disaster comes suddenly, people's homes are destroyed and they can't be able to run their families properly if they don't save money from now. People should be aware of saving money. Those who are saving money, they will get its benefits in future. All people should use their money properly and also they shouldn't use their money uselessly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that both young people and adults should save money for their future and for children's education and unexpected emergencies. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as funding education or handling sudden disasters, meaning the prompt is overall tackled adequately. However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly stated rather than fully extended with deep reasoning, such as the mention of helping relatives or friends. To reach a higher level, the writer would need to fully develop all main points with extended explanations and more robust supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text demonstrates some organisation, but it suffers from a lack of clear overall progression because it is written as a single, massive block paragraph instead of being divided into distinct paragraphs with clear thematic boundaries. Cohesive devices are used rather mechanically and repetitively, such as repetitive starting phrases like 'If they don't save' and 'If anytime'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making the flow of ideas choppy. To improve, the writer must organise the essay into proper paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and employ a wider, more natural range of cohesive devices to connect ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, featuring common words related to money and saving, such as 'education', 'healthcare', and 'financial issue'. However, the range is limited and contains noticeable errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'an crucial thing', 'matter of sorrow', 'uselessly', and the awkward collocation 'read abroad' instead of study abroad. These noticeable errors and limited lexical flexibility mean the vocabulary is minimally adequate. To progress, the student should incorporate a broader range of less common lexical items, learn correct collocations, and refine word choices for greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing shows a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic clauses joined by simple conjunctions. While there are some attempts at complex sentences using conditionals (e.g., 'If they don't save money...'), these are often faulty or awkward, containing grammatical errors such as 'they would have not money' and 'they hadn't save money'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, and negation patterns that cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over a wider variety of complex grammatical structures and eliminate frequent errors in verb tense consistency.
