Student answer (Band 6.0)

Now-a-days, saving money is mandatory for everyone whether the teenagers or adult. It helps a lot in future circumstances. I strongly agree with this because it gives us a chance to do predictable financial planning, emergency protection, confidence and self-dependent. Ultimately, budgeting will support us in building assets in future.

The one of the major pros of saving your finances is predictable planning. For instance, one wants to buy a car. He can save the money with proper planning so, he will get it in predictable time-zone. No doubt, prediction of the future gives mentally peace.

Second, saving funds help alot in an hour of need, such as sudden job lose or medical emergency. Usually, people, who are not willing to save initially, seek alms in difficult hours. As mentioned about the mental peace earlier, saving funds also boost confidence. Because now we do not need to depend on others. We have financial standings in our back which is supporting our present and future needs. Moveover, these standings help alot in making the tangible and intangible assets. These assets can be house, car, skill or something else.

The harmful side is oversaving. It is often quoted: "Excess of everything is harmful". So, some people try to make their present difficult just to save money. There should be the balanced harmony between spending and saving to get fruitful results.

All in all, to save money for future is the great habit to adapt. Everyone should adopt it to make your future planning so foreseeable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position that saving money is vital for everyone. The main ideas are relevant and generally easy to follow, as seen when you discuss predictable planning and emergency protection like a sudden job loss or medical emergency. However, some ideas remain under-developed or slightly repetitive, such as the brief mention of building assets without deep explanation. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need to be more fully extended and supported with deeper analysis and more concrete real-world examples, rather than moving quickly from one point to the next.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure your thoughts into logical paragraphs, beginning with an introduction, moving through body paragraphs that explore the pros and cons, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Second' and 'All in all', but referencing and linking can occasionally feel mechanical or somewhat abrupt. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Moveover' or sentence connections in the middle body paragraph lack smooth integration. To achieve a higher band, the progression between ideas needs to be more seamless, and cohesive devices should be managed with greater flexibility rather than relying on basic listing words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and phrasing such as 'predictable financial planning', 'emergency protection', and 'tangible and intangible assets'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling that reflect a limited precision. Examples include 'Now-a-days', 'mentally peace', 'job lose', 'alms', 'Moveover', and 'balanced harmony'. While these do not heavily impede communication, they show that your control over collocation and word form is still developing. To improve, you should focus on more natural phrasing and accurate spelling of common terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at structures like conditional or relative clauses, such as 'people, who are not willing to save initially'. There are several errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including articles, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'whether the teenagers or adult', 'saving funds help alot', 'to save money for future', and missing commas or incorrect punctuation marks around quotations. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist often enough to prevent higher-level accuracy. To progress further, you should aim for more error-free complex sentences and closer attention to minor grammatical rules.
