Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the writer manages to present a position agreeing with the prompt, the ideas are limited and under-developed. For example, the statement 'I am totally agree with this statement' introduces the stance, but the supporting arguments regarding guardians making assets or students making money lack clear explanation and sufficient examples from personal knowledge or experience. Furthermore, the reasoning often drifts into tangential thoughts, such as labelling certain people as 'the trash of the community', which detracts from a focused discussion on saving money. To move beyond this level, the writer needs to present fully developed ideas with relevant, well-supported arguments addressing all parts of the prompt in a more sustained manner.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation evident in the text, such as the use of introductory phrases like 'To commence' and 'To put it in a nutshell', but there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the response. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in the phrase 'The public about them contend'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow of sentences within paragraphs lacks logical links and smooth transitions. To achieve a higher level, the writer must ensure that ideas are logically sequenced with clear progression, and cohesive devices must be used more accurately and naturally to connect sentences and paragraphs without mechanical repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic meaning. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'desendants' (misspelled), 'internatioal', and 'populace', but noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form occur throughout the text. Phrases like 'make more and more asset' demonstrate incorrect pluralisation and collocation issues. While the meaning remains mostly discernible despite these limitations, the frequent errors in spelling and word choice cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve in this area, the writer should focus on expanding their lexical repertoire, ensuring correct word forms, and improving spelling control for both common and academic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a limited range of structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. Frequent errors in grammar appear throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'For every individuals it is very crucial', incorrect prepositional usage, and awkward phrasing such as 'I am totally agree'. Punctuation and article usage also show persistent inaccuracies, which can cause difficulty for the reader in following the intended meaning. To reach higher bands, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex structures with improved accuracy, ensuring that the majority of sentences are free from basic grammatical errors.
