Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's modern era, money has become an integral part of our life, with its uasge increasing rapidly across the globe due to its numerous benefits. However, some individuals believe that money is more important and to save money for future is extra beneficial, while some opine this notion. However, I largely agree with this idea of having money for future.

The following paragraphs will highlight my views and tend to a logical conclusion.

This paragraph will anticipate the brighter side to save money. To initiate with, money is a part of everyone's life. In addition to this, with the help of money people can do anything such as what they want and so on. However, there is one phrase called "Money is a power for everthing", and to some extent it is believe by most of the citizens. Furthermore, public can buy things with the help of money, also money can stabilize financial sustainability and can play a main role.

One important reason why saving money is essential is that financial difficulties can arise at any money. Unforeseen circumstances, such as problems with health insurance, family emergencies and sudden unemployment, may occur without warning. For instance, if a young person loses their job unexpectadly, having a financial cushion allows to pay them for rent and food while they look for a new position. Without savings, they might fall into debt, which is very difficult to pay back later.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that saving money is vital for young people becuase it allows them to prepare for unexpected circumstances and provide solid foundation for a better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and takes a clear position in favour of saving money for the future, but the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. While the writer manages to express a general opinion, some sections lack clear focus and logical extension. For instance, the second paragraph wanders into vague generalisations about money without directly answering the prompt regarding why saving is important. The third paragraph provides a more relevant and clearer point regarding unforeseen circumstances and job loss, illustrating how savings prevent debt. However, overall, the ideas remain somewhat under-developed and partially addressed. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to present fully extended and well-supported arguments throughout the essay, ensuring every paragraph directly contributes to the central thesis without repetitive filler.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response exhibits some basic organisation, dividing the thoughts into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the frequent and awkward use of 'However' and repetitive transitional phrases like 'The following paragraphs will highlight...' and 'This paragraph will anticipate...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are disjointed and overly brief, which disrupts the logical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the exact progression of thought. To achieve a higher score, the writer must ensure a smoother, more logical progression throughout the text, using a wider and more natural range of cohesive devices without mechanical overuse, alongside more purposeful paragraphing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource displayed is limited, though minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'financial sustainability' and 'unforeseen circumstances', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, including 'uasge', 'at any money' instead of 'any moment', and 'unexpectadly'. Spelling mistakes also occur, which causes some minor difficulty for the reader. The vocabulary tends to rely on basic and repetitive terms when discussing money. To reach the next level, the writer needs to expand their range of vocabulary and demonstrate greater precision in word choice and collocations, while significantly reducing spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures. While the student attempts some complex sentences, these attempts are frequently faulty, leading to awkward phrasing and grammatical errors. Examples include 'money is more important and to save money for future is extra beneficial, while some opine this notion' and 'allows to pay them for rent'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, and punctuation, such as the lowercase 'i' in the conclusion. These frequent errors cause some difficulty and strain for the reader. To improve, the student must increase their control over complex sentence patterns and ensure greater accuracy in basic grammatical structures, reducing the density of errors that impede smooth reading.
