Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's competitive world, saving money has become increasingly important for people of all ages, including young adults. I completely agree with this view that everyone should the habit of saving because it provides financial security during unexpected suitions and help individual to achieve their lon-term goals.
One of the main benefis of set aside money is that it provides finantcial stability during difficult times. Life is unpredictable, and people may face medical emergency, unemployment, or unexpected financial loss at any stage of their lives. Having sufficient funds enables individual to cover essential ecpenses without relying on loans and experience monetary hardship. Furthermore, having money reserves can provide peace of mind because they know that they havr financial resources when any unexpected cost arise. For example, a young graduate who unexpectedly loses their job can use their savings to pay rent, food and other daily expenses until they find new employment.
Another important reason for build up savings is help people to achieve their future goals. Savings can be used to pay for higher education. purchase a house, start a new buiseness and prepare for fretirement. Moreover, having money as a saving can help them to make important decision of their life with greater independence and confidence. Developing this habit in young generation can also teach them to manage their income responsibly and avoid unnessasary expenditure. For instance, students who save their money may pay their tuition fee on their oewn without depending on their psarents or taking out loans.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that everyone, such as adults, should save money for the upcoming days. This is because savings provides financial security during emergency and reduces dependency on borrowing. At the same time, it enable individuals to achieve future objectives, including obtaining an education, buying a house, and preparing for retirement, while promoting greater financial dependence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by presenting a clear and well-developed position throughout the essay. The writer clearly agrees with the importance of saving money for everyone, including young people, and supports this view with relevant, well-extended arguments. For instance, the discussion on how savings provide a safety net during unexpected unemployment and how the habit benefits young adults in achieving long-term goals shows a logical extension of ideas. However, there is a slight tendency to over-generalise in parts, which keeps the response at this solid level. To move further, the ideas could be supported with even more specific, real-world examples rather than general hypothetical scenarios, ensuring that all aspects of the prompt are explored with maximum depth and precision.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay demonstrates clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The writer uses standard cohesive devices effectively to connect ideas, such as "One of the main benefits", "Furthermore", and "Another important reason". Paragraphing is managed appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct central topic, moving smoothly from financial stability in emergencies to achieving future goals. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly repetitive in structure, which prevents the essay from achieving a higher level of fluency. To reach the next band, the writer could employ more sophisticated and subtle cohesive devices, ensuring that transitions between sentences flow completely naturally without relying on formulaic transition markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "financial stability", "monetary hardship", and "independence". However, there are noticeable spelling mistakes ("suitions", "benefis", "finantcial", "ecpenses", "buiseness", "fretirement", "unnessasary") and word-form errors ("build up savings" instead of building up savings, "help individual" instead of help individuals, "as a saving" instead of as savings) throughout the text. These errors in spelling and word choice reflect a typical profile where lexical control is inconsistent. To improve, the writer needs to expand their control of word forms and commit common academic vocabulary and spelling patterns to memory to avoid impeding the overall flow of communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use relative clauses and conditional structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as missing words ("everyone should the habit" instead of everyone should cultivate the habit), subject-verb agreement issues ("savings provides" instead of savings provide, "it enable" instead of it enables), and minor article errors. Fortunately, these errors in grammar and punctuation rarely impede communication and the meaning remains clear throughout. To achieve a higher band, the writer must increase the proportion of error-free complex sentences and demonstrate better control over tense consistency and agreement patterns in more intricate structural arrangements.
