Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that saving money is very crucial for everyone specially younger people for their better future .From my perspective, saving money can be helpful for people who have goals for their future life like they save their money for educational purpose and buying house in future that will help them alot.
On the one hand, when individuals save money that will help you in different ways like when younger people are studying in 10th standard their fees will be minimum, that they can afford but as we know tertiory education is much more expensive, sometimes we cannot afford because we have so many other things where we spend our money .For instance, Medical studies are much more costly then other subjects because they are using labs, making notes and presentation, nowadays websites cost high when people use it for the help and ideas. Also, when younger people do experiments and practices in labs also get a student membership from universities for using library so, thats why when students choose this type of subjects they shoud need to do savings for safer side.
On the other hand, people should need to do saving if they want to buy any house and a car because saving money assits people alot in different ways individuals cannot expect. Sometimes any emergency can be happen to people so we should prepare our self also, fincial background that we can use this money when any tragedy happen. Furthermore, when you decide to buy something like a car that money helps you due to the recent expenses that is getting higher day by day, it is difficult to save such huge money from such high expenses, so saving little amount can help you alot in future.
Taking everything into account, securing future by saving money is very vital due to recent higher prices and this will help you alot in educational purpose and many more other fields like buying houses and any car.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on whether young people should save money for their future. The main arguments focus on higher education expenses and major life purchases like houses and cars. However, while the ideas are relevant, some are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the discussion around university expenses jumps between general fees and specific costs like websites and student memberships without deep elaboration. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to fully develop all ideas with extended explanations and more robust supporting examples rather than listing scattered points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and a concluding summary at the end. Paragraphing is utilised to separate main ideas, with clear introductory markers like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, and referencing is not always clear, such as the pronoun shifts between 'you', 'we', and 'individuals'. Furthermore, transitional phrases within paragraphs can feel repetitive. To achieve a higher level of cohesion, the writer should employ a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure seamless logical transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary such as 'tertiary education', 'emergency', and 'tragedy'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as writing 'very crucial' instead of 'crucial', 'educational purpose' instead of 'educational purposes', and 'such huge money' instead of 'such a large amount of money'. There are also minor spelling and phrasing slips like 'assits' and 'fincial'. These errors do not heavily impede communication, but they restrict the score. To improve, the writer must focus on precision in word choice and natural collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are some errors in grammar, punctuation, and agreement throughout the text, such as missing articles ('buying house', 'buy any house'), incorrect prepositions or verb patterns ('shoud need to do savings'), and run-on sentences with comma splices. Despite these errors, they rarely impede overall communication. To reach the next band, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences when using complex structures and improve the control over articles and subject-verb agreement.
