Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there has been a growing debate about whether money should be saved for future or not. While some people disagree with this idea, I firmly agree with this view that money should be saved for future ahead because it can help individuals at the time of difficulties and they can invest it for better future.
One clear benefit is that saving money can help people in hard times. This means that when people save money and if any unfortunate circumtances occur in which they need money to get out of it, they can use that saved money. For instance, if anyone is going through a business loss, their saved money can help them to tackle that situation by rebuilting the bussiness or using it for other expense. As a result, saved money can take people out of financial hard situations of life.
Another, benfits of saving money is that people can invest their money. This allows people to get profit out of their saved money and make their savings double or triple. For instance, individual can invest their saved money in multiple businesses to expand it or purchase lands or gold. As a result, investing saved money can help people to make more money.
In conclusion, I agree with the view that saving money is necessary because it can help in debts and financial losses and it can also help people to make more money. Although some people believe that saving money drains daily excitments as people will need to controll their expanses, but I agree that it is important to save money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing that saving money is important. The main ideas are relevant, such as financial security during hardships and investment opportunities. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, the body paragraphs rely on repetitive explanations and slightly generalised examples, such as mentioning business loss or purchasing gold, without fully exploring the broader implications for young people specifically. To reach a higher band, the ideas would need more thorough extension and deeper conceptual exploration rather than relying on straightforward, repetitive assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response maintains a coherent overall arrangement and shows a clear attempt at logical progression. Each body paragraph opens with a topic sentence, such as 'One clear benefit is that saving money can help people in hard times,' and uses basic cohesive devices like 'For instance' and 'As a result.' Paragraphing is used appropriately to divide introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, the cohesion can feel slightly mechanical and formulaic at times, and referencing is occasionally imprecise. To fully cross into the higher band of consistent logical progression and flexible cohesion, the transitions between sentences could be smoother and less reliant on repetitive formulaic templates.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'circumstances,' 'investment,' and 'financial losses.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reflect a limited command of word forms and collocations, such as writing 'circumtances,' 'rebuilting,' 'bussiness,' and 'expanses.' Furthermore, phrases like 'drains daily excitments' lack natural collocation. These errors do not seriously impede overall communication, but they prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. Improving precision in spelling and selecting more natural collocations would significantly strengthen this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as 'While some people disagree...' and 'This means that when people save money and if any unfortunate circumstances occur...'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including awkward phrasing like 'view that money should be saved for future ahead' and minor agreement issues. Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication and the meaning remains clear throughout. To move towards a higher band, the writer needs to produce a higher frequency of error-free complex sentences and maintain tighter control over prepositions, articles, and clause structures.
