Student answer (Band 5.0)

Toaday i would like to talk about for saving money for everyone including young people for their future.

Now i am telling you my opinion. But first we write about people statement. What different type of people have do? And what they say and what they have opinion.

Some people thought to save money is important for future.Save money help up in bad time. They thought save money help their children after their passed away. And they thought save money help their in old age.And they dont waste money in whloe life and they think before spent money. For Example: Their thought save money help in bad time if we loos in our buisness or leave our job and save money help their children.

And some people thought save money is not important.Spent money like a rich and enjoy our life. This type of people earn money and buy clothes goes for tour and fulfil their wishes eat good food. They thought in our small life save money and then passed away this is not life they thought spent money and enjoy our life. For Example:Buy clothes,Eat fresh food,Make tour,Fulfil our wishes and enjoy our life.

But now i would like to talk about my opinion.According to my opinion i think saving money is important and sometime its not important because we dont do this saving all money and dont eat good food dont go for tour even a one time in year and dont fulfil their wishes this is not good you save your money but sometime you spend money on your self and enjoy your life and donot do this all your earn money waste.Spent money in a limit.Half money save and half spent on your self.

So i am little agree with this statement and little disagree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task partially, presenting a position that is somewhat clear by the end of the essay, where the writer states they are "little agree with this statement and little disagree." However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on why people think saving money is important briefly mentions bad times and children, but the supporting examples, such as "if we loos in our buisness," lack depth and adequate elaboration. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding spending money like a rich person is repetitive and lists basic ideas rather than extending them with well-reasoned arguments. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to present fully developed ideas with relevant explanations and clear examples that directly support a well-sustained position throughout the entire essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation in the response, with distinct paragraphs attempting to introduce the topic, present two opposing views, and give a personal conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression; the essay feels disjointed because transitions between paragraphs are overly conversational and abrupt, such as "Now i am telling you my opinion. But first we write about people statement." Cohesive devices are used inadequately and repetitively, with sentences frequently chained together using simple connectors like "And" or "They thought" without sophisticated linking. Furthermore, referencing is at times unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow of arguments. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of appropriate cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one with clear progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies on basic and repetitive words, such as "money," "spend," "save," and "life," which restricts the lexical range. There are noticeable lexical errors, including word choice and word formation mistakes such as "loos" instead of lose, "buisness" instead of business, and "Make tour" instead of take a tour or travel. Spelling errors are also present throughout the text, such as "Toaday" and "whloe." While the meaning can generally be understood, these frequent inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, incorporate less common lexical items accurately, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures attempted are very basic, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex or compound forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, including problems with subject-verb agreement (e.g., "save money help up"), incorrect verb tenses, missing articles, and awkward prepositions. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences and improper spacing around punctuation marks. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader in places. To reach the next band, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of sentence structures, reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors, and improve control over punctuation and verb forms.
