Student answer (Band 6.0)
Financial planning has become more essential part of modern life. Many people believe that all individual, particularly young people, should save money for their future. I completely agree with this view because saving monet can provide financial security and help deal with unexpected expenses in future.
Firstly, the one main reason why i agree that saving money provides financial security. when people regularly put aside some of their income, they built saving over time. For example, a young person who saves a small amount of money every month can use this money later for education or accommodation. As a result, they can become less dependent on others for financial support.
Secondly, another important reason is that savings can help people deal with unexpected expenses. Emergencies such as medical treatment, unemployment or urgent repairs can require large amount of money. For instance, if a young people suddenly loses their job, their savings can help him to survive and fulfill basic need until they find another job. Therefore, having savings can reduce financial stress during difficult situations.
In conclusion, I completely agree that everyone, inclusion young people, should save money for their future. This is because savings provide financial security and help people to manage unexpected expenses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear throughout: you completely agree that everyone, including young people, should save. You give two relevant reasons—financial security and coping with unexpected expenses—and support them with examples involving education, accommodation, unemployment and medical costs. This addresses the task, but the ideas are not developed equally or in much depth: the examples are brief, and you could explain more specifically how saving helps young people meet future goals or manage a period without income. The response also does not meet the stated 250-word minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop your reasoning. To strengthen the response, extend each example with explanation and consider a relevant qualification, such as how much people can realistically save.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression explicit. This is a solid foundation, though the linking is somewhat mechanical and repetitive, particularly with “For example,” “As a result,” and “Therefore.” Some connections could be made more naturally by showing how each example supports the paragraph’s main point, rather than relying mainly on transition phrases. The reference in “their savings can help him” is also unclear because the subject is plural. Use varied linking and ensure pronouns clearly refer to the people or ideas mentioned.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial security,” “unexpected expenses,” “unemployment,” and “financial stress,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and some word choices, forms, and collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “saving monet,” “built saving,” “a young people,” and “everyone, inclusion young people.” These errors are noticeable, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Aim to use accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. You could also vary repeated uses of “money” and “savings” with precise expressions such as “set aside income,” “emergency fund,” or “financial independence,” where they fit the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including a conditional example beginning “if a young person suddenly loses their job.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but there are some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “Firstly, the one main reason why i agree that saving money provides financial security” is an incomplete sentence; “when people regularly put aside some of their income, they built saving” has a tense and agreement problem; and “a young people … help him” does not maintain consistent number. Capitalisation of “I” and sentence openings also needs attention. Practise building complete topic sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and pronoun consistency while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
