Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the topic with two relevant reasons: savings can help in emergencies and can support young people’s education. The examples of medical costs and your cousin’s part-time work make the response more specific. However, the emergency paragraph lists several situations without explaining how savings would help in each, and the education point is developed more clearly than the broader claim that saving is important for everyone. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each reason in more detail and connect the examples explicitly to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. The ideas within each paragraph are generally relevant, and the examples follow the points they illustrate. Some connections are less smooth, however: the emergency paragraph moves from medical operations to children’s education and loans, then to illness, without a clear explanation of how these examples relate. There is also some repetition of “emergency situations” and “young generation.” Group related examples and use clearer references, such as “these expenses,” to make the progression less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “economical stability,” “emergency situations,” “part time jobs,” and “subject of their interest.” There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “side hustle,” though this is informal for an academic essay. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “saving money for future,” “continue their further studies,” and “get out of situations.” Spelling errors such as “collage,” “imidately,” “studing,” and “neccessary” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic combinations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning more precise without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “as,” “where,” and “while,” so there is some variety in structure. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “saving money for future is crucial” is missing an article, and “it help young generation” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “one of my cousin had saved money … helped him,” the sentence structure is incomplete because the relationship between the actions is unclear. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around commas. Review articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, and make sure each longer sentence has a clear main clause.
