Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.

Saving plays an important role in the future of different people. It is claimed that it is important for everyone, including youngsters to save money for their better future. I completely agree with this statement. I will discuss the reasons in detail.

On one hand, when someone save money for his future he is making his future save. In many cases, we are unaware from unwanted situations which may occur in future, so we have to be prepared for future challenges and for bad situations. Those who prepare themselves for future regarding to money may not get worry about their future because they are already prepared for the future situations. For example, my parents have been saving money for our education when I was a child and now they are preparing myself for study abroad because they have sufficient funds to afford my education.

On the other hand, when someone cannot save money for his future he might will have to face different unwanted conditions. It is also very crucial for young people to save money for future because the money they save in the past might help them to use that savings for developing a business or sometimes hunting for a job. For instance, one of friends started to save money when he was growing younger and he recently opened a small business due to his personal savings.

To conclude, saving money for the future plays an important role in the individuals lives and help them to face different bad situations with confidence. Therefore, I believe that it is important for residents to do savings for better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the value of saving for both adults and young people, giving relevant reasons: preparing for unexpected difficulties, funding education, and starting a business. The examples about your parents and your friend help make the argument concrete. This meets the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed: the point about unexpected situations is repeated in general terms, while the benefits of saving for young people could be explained more fully, such as how savings provide independence or reduce reliance on loans. To strengthen the response further, explain the consequences behind each example and connect them explicitly to your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from preparing for difficulties to using savings for education or business is easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. However, the repeated framing “On one hand” and “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although both paragraphs support the same position. Some links are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “future” and “for example.” Referencing in “they are already prepared” is understandable but could be more precise about who “they” refers to. Use transitions that show addition or consequence, and vary linking expressions while keeping the paragraph progression clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “sufficient funds,” “education,” “personal savings,” and “business.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “unwanted situations” and “future challenges.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “future,” “money,” and “save,” and several word combinations are unnatural or imprecise, including “making his future save,” “get worry,” and “do savings.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning, even though the overall message remains clear. Build a wider set of natural collocations for financial planning, and check whether verbs and nouns combine idiomatically before using them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “when” and “because,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some sentences show useful control, such as “For instance, one of friends started to save money when he was growing younger and he recently opened a small business.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction persist. For example, “when someone save” needs subject–verb agreement, while “he might will have to face” combines incompatible modal forms. In “my parents have been saving … when I was a child,” the tense relationship is also inaccurate. Review agreement, modal verbs, and tense consistency, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
