Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that people should save, and you give relevant reasons involving education costs and emergencies. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both reasons are briefly stated rather than explained with developed support. The claim that saving helps students reduce stress needs a clearer explanation, and the example about students being “more motivational” does not show precisely how saving leads to this outcome. The point about savings in banks contributing to national tax is also unclear and not convincingly connected to your main argument. The response is 76 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your ideas. Extend each reason with a clear explanation and a relevant, specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “Moreover,” and a concluding sentence beginning “At the end.” This helps the reader identify your main points. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, moving from education costs to emergencies. However, the progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links between claims are unclear—for example, the move from personal savings in banks to a country’s international reputation. The repeated “For example” also makes the linking somewhat mechanical, while the final sentence introduces no developed summary of your reasons. Build each paragraph around one main idea, explain it step by step, and use linking phrases that show the precise relationship between claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scholarship competitions,” “chronic illness,” “costly treatment,” and “financial burden,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “gigantic shift” and “abrupt surgery,” but these combinations are not natural in context and reduce precision. Other choices, including “steeping” for rising costs and “more motivational” for students’ attitudes, do not express the intended meaning accurately. Spelling errors such as “stess,” “alot,” and “neased” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than more elaborate wording: for instance, describe education costs as “rising steadily” and an operation as “urgent surgery.” Proofreading would also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex structures, including the conditional example beginning “if a family member gets a chronic illness” and the purpose clause “to reduce overall stess.” Most of your meaning remains understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation are noticeable. The opening phrase “topics having debates on it” is awkwardly formed, and “In the following paragraphs, i will justify my view of being agreed” does not use a clear grammatical pattern to state your position. Capitalise “I,” and avoid the semicolon after “For example,” in both instances. The final sentence also contains a relative clause that would benefit from clearer construction. Practise accurate introductory clauses and conditional sentences, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries.
