Student answer (Band 6.5)

It often argued that people should save money for their upcoming life. I strongly agree with this statement because saving provides financial security and helps young people become mor responsibl and independent. This essay will discuss why financial security is crucial for emergencies and for achieving long-term life goals.

Firstly, saving money provides a sense of financial security against un expected emergencies. Life is unpredictable, and anyone can face problems like a serious illness, job oss, or an accident. If a person has no savings, such situations can become a nightmare and he may have to borrow money from others. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people lost their jobs, and only those who had some savings were able to survive that difficult period. Therefore, having savings acts as a safty net for everyone.

Secondly, it is even more important for young people to learn to save money from early age . When young people start savings, they become more responsible, independent, and disciplined. Istead of sspending all their pocket money on unneceessary things like expensive clothes or gedgets, if they save a small amount every month, they can use it for their higher education, to start a small business or to buy a small house in the future. For example, a student who saves money from his part time job can easily pay his university fees without putting a burden on his parents.

Inconclusion, i strongly claim and believe that saving money is an essential habit for all age group. It not only protect people in hard time also helps the youth to build a better and more secure future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that saving is important for everyone, particularly young people. You address both general financial security and the benefits of developing the habit early, supporting these points with relevant examples such as job loss during COVID-19 and a student saving for university fees. This gives the response a solid, relevant foundation. To make the argument more fully developed, explain the examples’ implications in greater detail and qualify broad claims such as “only those who had some savings were able to survive.” The discussion of long-term goals is useful, but could be linked more explicitly to why saving is important for everyone, not only young people.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Inconclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. However, the linking is somewhat formulaic, and some sentences contain several ideas that would be clearer if divided or connected more precisely. For example, the sentence beginning “Instead of spending all their pocket money…” moves from spending habits to several future goals in one long construction. The conclusion also repeats the position without adding a concise synthesis. More varied transitions and clearer links between claims and examples would make cohesion more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial security,” “long-term life goals,” “independent,” “disciplined,” and “safety net.” These expressions help communicate the main ideas clearly, and the examples are generally easy to understand. There are, however, several spelling errors and inaccurate or awkward word choices, including “un expected,” “job oss,” “safty net,” and “start savings.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “survive that difficult period” and “all age group.” These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit the accuracy and naturalness of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for saving, spending, and financial planning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The response includes both simple sentences and attempts at more complex structures, such as “If a person has no savings, such situations can become a nightmare” and the conditional construction about saving pocket money. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. The opening needs a subject and auxiliary (“It is often argued”), while “from early age” needs an article, and “when young people start savings” uses an incorrect grammatical form. The sentence beginning “Instead of…” is also awkwardly constructed, and the conclusion has agreement and clause-structure problems (“It not only protect people…”). Aim to produce complete, controlled sentences and check articles, verb forms, and subject–verb agreement, especially in longer sentences.
