Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that saving money is a crucial decision among all the age groups. There are numerous views on this notion. I strongly agree with this statement that it is beneficial to save money for future even for young individuals.
Fisrtly, I would begin with my thought that in this stressful world we can get to see sudden emergencies. These can be about health, career or studies. If we notice all of these particular things require a considerable amount of money if any uncertainity occurs. For instance, an individual who saves a certain amount of money every month suddenly finds out that he/she is in a medical emergency. It will be very convinient for them to arrange funds for treatment. On the other hand someone who never saved money will have to face consequences. This can happen with a person of any age.
Followed by this, the other benefit of saving money is that one can have less stressful life. This may sound unfamiliar at the beginning, however it is naturally claimed by some individuals that when they have certain amount of debts with them it makes them feel that they have a secure future. This is a true reasons as anyone can need money on sudden occasions so keeping debts feel as a saver option to most of the individuals.
In conclusion, I would say that in this expensive era where everthing costs an arm and a leg, even if small portion of money is saved every month by individuals it will show up as a blessing for them in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I strongly agree,” and the conclusion reinforces the view that regular saving can help in the future. You give relevant reasons, especially the example of using savings to meet medical costs, which directly supports the claim that emergencies can affect people of any age. However, the second reason is less clear and developed: the discussion of “debts” and feeling secure appears to confuse borrowing with saving, so it does not convincingly support your argument. Explain more precisely how savings reduce financial stress, and extend both reasons with specific consequences or examples. This would make the response more fully developed across the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “Followed by this,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Followed by this” is an awkward transition, while “This is a true reasons” does not clearly identify what “this” refers to. The shift from saving to having “debts” also disrupts the progression of the second paragraph. Use more precise referencing and connect each paragraph’s main point to its explanation, rather than relying mainly on formulaic signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “sudden emergencies,” “considerable amount,” “medical emergency,” and “secure future.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and the idiom “costs an arm and a leg” adds some variety. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, particularly “keeping debts feel as a saver option,” which obscures your intended meaning. There are also spelling errors such as “Fisrtly,” “uncertainity,” “convinient,” and “everthing.” Aim for more precise financial vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish clearly between savings, debt, and borrowing when explaining how people can prepare for unexpected costs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If we notice all of these particular things require…” and a relative clause in “someone who never saved money.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “If we notice all of these particular things require” has an incomplete or incorrectly formed clause, and “This is a true reasons” has a number-agreement error. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “with certain amount of debts” lacks an article, and “consequences. This” needs a space after the full stop. Practise forming clear conditional sentences and check agreement, articles, and punctuation during revision.
