Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years saving money has become a widely discussed issue. While some people believe that saving money is important for the future , other argue that saving money is not necessary for the future. This essay will discuss both views and give my opinion.
On the one hand, it is often argued that, saving money is necessary for everyone, for their better future. I will agree with this statement and give my opinion about it that it is very important for us to save money for the future this is because it will help us a lot. In several ways if we want to buy something expensive in future we need to save money for it and spend that money on the right time.
For example, If I want to buy a car which is expensive I will save money for it and in future I will buy it. Therefore, this process of purchasing help me a lot.
On the other hand, many people believe that saving money for future is not necessary for everyone. According to this statement I will strongly disagree with it this is because as I told you in upper paragraph if someone wants to buy a expensive thing in future it will cost him or her a lot of money which he or she cannot pay on a proper time this situation will happen when a person have not that much money. Therefore, it is important to save money for their future including younger generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear general view in favour of saving, and the example of saving to buy a car is relevant. However, the response only partly addresses the question: it introduces “both views,” although the task asks for your degree of agreement, and the position is not consistently stated. The opening says you will discuss both sides, while the conclusion is absent and the final paragraph mainly repeats the earlier point. Ideas are also under-developed: explain more specifically how savings protect people from unexpected costs or support young people’s future plans, rather than relying mainly on an expensive purchase. A direct, consistent position and fuller explanation of a small number of relevant reasons would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction and two body paragraphs, and “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the intended contrast visible. However, the overall progression is limited: the second paragraph repeats the same car-purchase argument rather than developing a distinct opposing view, and there is no clear concluding paragraph. Linking phrases such as “Therefore” are used, but the connections between claims are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “According to this statement I will strongly disagree with it” does not clearly show how the paragraph’s point relates to the writer’s position. Organise the essay around a consistent opinion, give each paragraph a distinct purpose, and use referencing and transitions to show how each reason supports that opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central topic, including “save money,” “future,” “expensive,” and “purchasing.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “important,” “future,” and “save money,” which makes the argument sound repetitive. Some collocations and word choices are awkward, such as “on the right time,” “a proper time,” and “this process of purchasing help me a lot.” These choices may make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is usually understandable. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions—for example, language about financial security, unexpected expenses, and long-term goals—and check that verbs and phrases combine naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences using clauses such as “this is because,” and the basic meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range remains limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or run together. For instance, “I will agree with this statement and give my opinion about it that it is very important…” combines clauses without clear grammatical control. There are also frequent errors in agreement and articles: “other argue,” “a expensive thing,” and “this process … help me.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention, particularly in the long sentence beginning “According to this statement.” Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement, articles, and punctuation.
