Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is significant for every individuals to save money for their better future. I completely with this statement, because saving gives people safety and helps them to achieve their goals.

To begin with, people always try to save money for their difficult time savings actually help people to make their future better. For instance, if someone want to get higher education but he or she has lack of money he or she must start to save money for their education. In addition, savings also help in their difficult time such as, if they get sick and suffer from fever or any other disease if they have money they can conventiently visit to a doctor and can buy medicine easily.

On the other hand, saving money also help people to make their family members happy such as, if there are coming an event in their family like birthday, any engagement ceremony, and any wedding function their family members first demand to buy them new clothes, shoes, and jewellery if they saved money they can easily afford these items for them and make them happy. Moreover, by savings people can achieve their goals if people want to be a doctor saving money also hepl them here.

In conclusion, saving money always helps people to fulfill their dreams and support their family members in every difficult time of their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you completely agree that saving is important, and you give relevant reasons involving education, illness, and family needs. These examples show an understanding of the topic. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained in depth. For example, the education example says people should save if they lack money, but does not explain how saving over time makes study more achievable. The point about buying clothes and jewellery for family events is less directly connected to future security and needs clearer justification. The conclusion repeats the main claim without adding insight. The response is also 24 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop the argument. Extend the strongest examples and explain their significance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The sequence from personal needs to family needs is understandable, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the second body paragraph moves from family celebrations to becoming a doctor without a clear link. Some connections are also awkward or unclear, particularly the long sentence beginning “In addition, savings also help in their difficult time.” Repeated use of “if” and “such as” makes cohesion feel mechanical. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it with a clearly connected example; use pronouns and linking phrases with precise references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “save money,” “higher education,” “difficult time,” and “achieve their goals.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “make their future better” is vague, while “make their family members happy” and “demand to buy them” do not express the intended ideas precisely. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “conventiently” and “hepl.” Aim for more precise phrases related to financial planning and security, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general expressions with specific vocabulary would make the argument clearer and more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional examples, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction, and some make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “It is significant for every individuals” has an agreement error, and “if someone want” should use a matching verb form. The sentence beginning “On the other hand, saving money also help people” also has subject–verb agreement problems and becomes difficult to follow as it continues. Several ideas are joined into long sentences without clear punctuation, such as the example about illness and visiting a doctor. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses and appropriate punctuation.
