Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is an undeniable fact that it's important for everyone, Whether young or old to save money for the future. In this regard, this essay will highlight the given prespectives regarding saving money along with my personal opinion that stands with the former point of view with a proper conclusion.

To commence with, wealth is required for all aspects of human life in the modern world, and one cannot achieve proper success without carefully managing their respective assets. To explain it, spending money carelessly can lead to great financial problems in the future, during times of crisis. For example, young people tend to spend their income light heartedly without giving much thought into it, and don't build assets and savings. Thus, this leads to mental stress and turmoil in the future, when a large sum of money is required. Secondly, someone who starts saving early, is safeguarded from financial trouble, when a medical emergency occurs later in their life. To elaborate it, Life is exceptionally unpredictable, and what lies ahead is unforseeable, so, assets saved in young years can greatly help in the later years. Moreover, saving money is essential for young people, who yearn to start a family, as buying properties and caring for one's family need a substantial amount of saved credit.

However, Discussing the other prespective, the first and foremost point is that young people have their entire life ahead of them, and a lot of years to earn income and build wealth and assets. Apart from this, entertainment and refreshments are also necessary for people to have good mental and physical health. To clarify it, spending a portion of income on one's personal desires and dreams, should be done at a young age, to avoid regrets later on. Nevertheless, my personal stance aligns with, that it is important to save funds from a young age, as nobody can predict what happens in the upcoming years, and funds are also obligatory to start businesses.

In conclusion, there are several benefits of saving money for everyone, especially young people to build a prosperous future, with a bit of moderation to also enjoy life at present.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear: you agree that saving is important, particularly for young people, and you acknowledge the counterargument that they should also enjoy life while young. The response addresses the question and supports its view with relevant reasons, including financial emergencies, starting a family, and setting up a business. The medical-emergency example helps explain the value of saving, while the opposing point about personal desires gives the discussion some balance. This fits a response that addresses all parts and extends its ideas, though some claims remain broad. For example, the point about spending on entertainment is not developed with a specific illustration, and the opening refers to “given perspectives” without clearly identifying the two sides. Explain how to balance present enjoyment with saving to develop the argument further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting saving, a paragraph considering the opposing view, and a conclusion. The progression from careless spending to emergencies and family costs is generally easy to follow. You also use a range of linking expressions, such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “Nevertheless.” However, some transitions feel mechanical or do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas; “To clarify it” and “To elaborate it” are repeated formulae, and “However, Discussing the other perspective” is awkwardly joined. The introduction’s reference to “the former point of view” is also unclear because the two perspectives have not yet been stated. Use simpler, more precise links and make each paragraph’s central point explicit to improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial problems,” “medical emergency,” “assets,” and “substantial amount.” Some less common expressions show an effort to be precise, but several choices are unnatural or imprecise in context: “light heartedly” does not fit spending, “saved credit” is not a natural term for savings, and “refreshments” does not convey leisure or entertainment. There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “prespectives,” “unforseeable,” and “safeguarded.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they limit the accuracy and naturalness of the vocabulary. Prefer familiar, precise collocations, and check spelling carefully; for example, use “spend impulsively” and “savings” in place of the less natural phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “as,” and “who,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical and punctuation errors are present, however. In “Whether young or old,” the mid-sentence capitalisation is incorrect, and “someone who starts saving early, is safeguarded” has an unnecessary comma separating the subject from its verb. The sentence beginning “Nevertheless, my personal stance aligns with, that…” also has faulty punctuation and clause construction; write “Nevertheless, I believe that saving from a young age is important…” instead. Capitalisation after commas is inconsistent, as in “Discussing” and “Life.” More consistent sentence boundaries and careful editing of commas and clause structure would improve accuracy.
