Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about whether the everyone including younger generation should start saving money for their furture or they should live without having any saving. In this essay I will explain that why I completely diagree with the latter view.
On the one hand, there are people who saves some amount of money from their income. There are lot of platforms or website where a person can save or invest a small amount of money from their income which might help them in future. In addition, there are also some people specially younger those who look forword for their furture as saving money can be more helpful in their tough times. For example, if a 20 year old person starts saving 20 percentage from their income then after few decade he might save upto 50 to 60 lakhs without investing in some sort of stuff.
On the other hand, there are some people who agrue that saving money can be useless because the life is unpredicatable. Furthemore, they love to spend this money on them rather than saving such as, if a person earns 10,000 and he might spend atleast 2 to 3 thousands on the same day when he received the income. As a result, this person might face issues in the upcoming future because he would not have any saved money for the future.
In conclusion, I completelty stand with the statement that each and everyone should a saving platform or website where they can save some amount of money for the unpredicatable future. Moreover, it is also amount to spend money on yourself but if we save a small of money from our income then it might be more usefull then spend it all.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support saving, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You also acknowledge the opposing argument that life is unpredictable and some people prefer to spend their income, so the response addresses both sides of the issue. The example of saving part of a 20-year-old’s income is relevant, but its projected savings are not explained, and the discussion does not show how saving benefits people in different circumstances. Some points, such as recommending a “saving platform or website,” are narrower than the task’s broader question about whether everyone should save. Develop your reasons with clearer explanations and realistic examples, and make the extent of your agreement explicit from the introduction onward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from saving platforms to young people’s future planning and then to a numerical example without fully connecting these points. The opposing view is introduced, but the paragraph then shifts to the consequences of not saving, which blurs whose position is being discussed. Use clearer topic sentences and link each example directly to the claim it supports; also avoid relying so heavily on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “income,” “invest,” “unpredictable,” and “upcoming future,” and the reader can generally understand your main points. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “furture,” “look forword,” “save or invest a small amount,” and “a saving platform.” Repetition of “money,” “future,” and “saving” also makes the argument less flexible. Aim to use accurate financial expressions and vary how you refer to the central idea—for example, “set aside part of one’s earnings” or “build an emergency fund.” Check spelling carefully and choose phrases that sound natural in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a 20 year old person starts saving… then… he might save.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “there are people who saves” should use a plural verb, while “There are lot of platforms” needs an article. The opening phrase “whether the everyone” is also structurally incorrect, and “I will explain that why” uses an unnecessary conjunction. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build complex sentences with controlled conditionals and subordinate clauses.
