Student answer (Band 6.5)
I agree with the opinion that saving money for future is very important for everyone, including young people. Savings are beneficial in both the good and bad financial times. Savings are very useful when a person is not in a good financial condition, as they provide a sense of relief and also support. Even in good financial condition, savings help a person complete his dreams or aspirations.
A sudden problem may come at any time in any person's life. It can come in any form whether it is health related, job related or even in form of natural catastrophe. A person is usually not prepared to face such situations and hence it becomes important to save money. In India, children are often taught about the value of saving money by their perents and grandparents specially. One reason of this might be that ancesstors have frequently faced natural calamities or even possibly health related issues. These savings often give relief to the person as he always has this moral support at the back of his mind.
While income of a month is often spent to complete the necessary and basic requirements of family, it may not always be sufficient for a person to buy favourite things that he might think of as luxury. In India, peope often save money in order to buy their dream home, car or things which families ususally let go of as they think they are unnecessary. These savings often give a chance to a middle-class person to buy his or his family's dreams, whether it is a dream trip or celebration or even small occasion like going out to dinner which might not be regular for a lot of people.
Some people may argue that living and enjoying in present is more important and that saving is given more importance than what it should get. While enjoying life in present is very important, one should not undermine the importance of saving mainly because of the unpredictability of life or surroundings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the opening and remains consistent: you agree that saving matters for everyone, including young people. You address two relevant reasons—protection from unexpected difficulties and the ability to afford longer-term goals—and support them with examples such as health or job problems, a home, a car, and a family trip. This gives the response a relevant, extended argument. Some claims, however, are broad rather than fully explained, such as the suggestion that Indian families teach saving because ancestors faced calamities. The point about young people could also be developed more directly, for example by explaining how starting early builds financial independence or habits. More precise explanation of these points would strengthen the support for your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs develop separate benefits, and the final paragraph acknowledges an opposing view before reaffirming your position. This logical progression makes the argument easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Even in good financial condition,” “While,” and “hence” to connect ideas. At times, however, cohesion is somewhat repetitive or mechanical: “savings” and “these savings” recur frequently, and several sentences begin with “A person” or “In India.” The reference in “These savings often give relief” is understandable but could be more specific about the support being described. Varying transitions and using clearer references would make the flow more flexible and polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss financial security and personal goals, including “financial condition,” “natural calamities,” “aspirations,” and “unpredictability.” These choices help convey the main ideas, and the meaning remains clear despite some inaccurate or unnatural expressions. For example, “complete his dreams” is not a natural collocation; “achieve his goals” would be more appropriate. “Moral support” does not accurately describe the reassurance provided by savings, and “necessary and basic requirements” is repetitive. There are also spelling errors, including “perents,” “ancesstors,” “peope,” and “ususally.” Improving collocations, avoiding repetition, and proofreading spelling would make your vocabulary more precise and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and concessive structures: “While income of a month is often spent…” and “While enjoying life in present is very important…”. Most sentences communicate their meaning clearly, and the longer sentences show an attempt to connect related ideas. Some grammatical errors remain. Articles and prepositions are sometimes missing or awkward, as in “saving money for future” and “in form of natural catastrophe.” The sentence “While income of a month is often spent…” also has an unclear structure, and “a person … complete his dreams” shifts awkwardly between singular reference and general meaning. Review article use and sentence construction, and aim to make complex sentences easier to control.
