Student answer (Band 5.5)
Saving money is crucial for everyone for their future, specially in emergency situations. While youths can save their money to buy any of their fantasy need in the future, without needing to ask for their parents, I believe they do not necessarily need to do it deliberately because parents are there for backup support.
To begin with, savings can help young people with buying fancy things they want. Kids with having a urge to buy new things immediately when they see is predominant. For example, if a child finds out there is a new gaming device trending in the market, he runs to buy it without any double thought if he had enough money. Hence, he can buy it pretty comfortably without asking for money with his guardians. This will also give some kind of relief to parents for not spending frequently for their kids.
Nevertheless, youth people have the privillage of backup support from their family. Mostly children need not to worry about their food, health, and education because their care givers are there for them to provide. For instance, even if child gets sick and it requires huge amount for medical treatment, they do not require to have the savings for their treatment. Parents will take all the stress and anxiety to provide treatment and financial support for their kid.
In conclusion, saving money is undoubtedly significant for all individuals. Although young people can purchase or experience anything of their choice through savings, I believe they do not essentially need to stress much about having a savings or not, because their parents are there to take care of them financially.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your response addresses the topic and gives a recognisable position: you accept that saving can help young people buy things, but argue that they do not need to prioritise it because parents can support them. The examples about a gaming device and medical costs are relevant. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says saving is crucial for everyone, while the conclusion says young people need not worry much about saving. More importantly, the discussion focuses on parental support and purchases, with little consideration of why saving matters for young people’s longer-term future, such as independence or unexpected expenses as adults. Develop this central tension and explain more clearly how far you agree with the statement, supporting each main reason with fuller explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a clear basic structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive or unclear. The first body paragraph moves from buying desired items to relieving parents of spending, without fully explaining the connection to future saving. References such as “he” and “they” also make it less clear whether you mean one child or young people generally. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than resolving the tension between saving being “crucial” and not needing to worry about it. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “savings,” “financial support,” “medical treatment,” and “stress and anxiety,” which makes the main ideas understandable. There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “backup support.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “fantasy need,” “fancy things,” “youth people,” and “privillage.” “Kids with having a urge” also shows difficulty selecting a natural phrase. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Aim for precise, conventional expressions and check spelling and word forms. A wider range of vocabulary for financial independence and future planning would also help you discuss the prompt more directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Although young people can purchase or experience anything of their choice through savings…” and a conditional example beginning “even if.” This shows some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors recur across the response. For example, “when they see” lacks a clear object, “if he had enough money” does not fit smoothly with the surrounding present-time example, and “even if child gets sick” is missing an article. There are also problems with agreement and number, as in “they do not require to have the savings,” where the subject shifts from a child to “they.” Practise building accurate clauses with consistent subjects, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for clarity.
