Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, saving money is important not for only for adults but for young kids also. Everything is getting expensive, saving money will help everybody to grow and survive. I agree with the statement that, saving money is important including young childrens.

First advantage of saving money, youngsters get to how they can save the money, where they can spent and on what items they can spent. Basically, children learns management skills on saving money. For instance, When I was in school I used to save money from my pocket money, birthdays gift voucher or when my grand parents gives money. Then, spent that money on stationary and my school project. At the end, I always had little money left in my pockets.

Another benefits of savinf money, is for childrens and thier parents too. When young kids turn 14 they can start work.Children get to know how the real money works in the real world.Childrens becomes more confident and responsible. This helps parent too, kids grew up in well manners and behaviours. For example, When I was turned 14 I started working part time in Macdonalds. This helps me to learned time management, saving money, work with the team, became confident, mature and responsible.

The main disavantage, of saving money including young kids sometime kids get more mature in thier life. They left their childdish behaviour in young age. This can lead them towards overconfident, rude and workaholic. For instance, my cousing brother started working when he turned 14. Right now, he is 30 years old but because working too much he becomes rude, overconfident. He got ego that, he is the only one who is saving money, helping their family.

Overall, Saving money for the future is always important for everyone.Including young kids will always benefical for their own future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you agree that saving is important for young people, and you give relevant reasons about learning money management and gaining responsibility through work. The personal examples from school and your part-time job help support these points. You also acknowledge a possible disadvantage, which shows some consideration of the issue. However, the discussion of children becoming “overconfident, rude and workaholic” is less clearly connected to saving itself; it seems to concern working too much rather than putting money aside. The benefits are also not developed equally: explain more specifically how saving prepares young people for future needs. This clear response and relevant support are strong, while fuller explanation and a tighter link between ideas would strengthen it further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting benefits, a paragraph on a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First advantage,” “Another benefits,” and “Overall” make the direction of the argument easy to follow. However, some links are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is occasionally unclear. For example, the move from children learning to save to their parents benefiting through “well manners and behaviours” needs a clearer explanation. The disadvantage paragraph also shifts from saving to working excessively without a transition that clarifies the relationship. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect examples explicitly to that point; clearer referencing would make the overall organisation more cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “management skills,” “time management,” “responsible,” and “part time.” Personal examples also give you opportunities to express relevant ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms, and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “stationary” for school supplies, “benefical,” “disavantage,” and repeated use of “money” and “kids.” Some phrases are unnatural, including “how the real money works in the real world” and “grew up in well manners.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message remains understandable. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for budgeting, financial independence, and future expenses, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your position and examples. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “children learns,” “when my grand parents gives money,” and “When I was turned 14 I started,” where the subject or tense pattern is not controlled. The opening also joins two complete ideas with a comma: “Everything is getting expensive, saving money will help everybody.” Several sentences omit necessary grammatical words or use unclear structures, such as “First advantage of saving money, youngsters get to how…” Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and past-tense consistency; this will make your varied attempts clearer and more accurate.
