Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, saving money has become a widely debated issue. Some people believe that saving money helps young people in the future. I strongly agree with this opinion because itis provide helps with financial security and helps achieve future goals.

There are several reasons why I agree with this opinion. The most significant reason is that saving money helps people deal with unexpected problems. This is because emergencies can happen at any time. For example, People may need money for medical treatment, unemployment, or urgent home repairs. As a result, Savings reduce financial stress and dependence on others.

Another important reason is that young people saving money helps them achieve future goals. In particular, young people save money to buy a new car or pay university fees. For instance,a person who saves part of their monthly income can accumulate a considerable amount of money by the end of the year. Furthermore, saving money also helps in acdemic responsible.. Therefore, they become financially independent and responsible.

To summarise, I strongly agree that it is important for everyone to save money that helps in future goals. This is mainly because their provide financial security and helps achieve future goals, which can help them improve their lives in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and the response gives two relevant reasons: savings can help with emergencies and support future goals. The examples of medical treatment, home repairs, a car, and university fees make the discussion relevant. However, the second reason is not fully explained, and the phrase “saving money also helps in acdemic responsible” leaves one point unclear. The conclusion repeats the main ideas rather than adding a developed final insight. The response also contains 208 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to develop the reasons and examples fully. Explain how savings help young people in particular, and extend each example with a clear consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from financial protection to achieving goals is logical, and signposts such as “The most significant reason,” “Another important reason,” and “To summarise” help readers follow the argument. This already provides a coherent framework. To make the organisation more flexible and polished, connect ideas more precisely and avoid relying on formulaic transitions. For example, “Furthermore” introduces a point that is difficult to understand, so the link between academic responsibility and financial independence is unclear. The conclusion also repeats wording from the introduction. Clarify that relationship and use referencing or transitions that show how each example supports its paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial security,” “unexpected problems,” “medical treatment,” “urgent home repairs,” and “financially independent.” These phrases communicate the main ideas and show some range beyond basic terms. However, several noticeable word-choice, spelling, and word-form problems reduce precision: “it is provide helps,” “acdemic responsible,” and “their provide financial security” are unclear or inaccurate. “Saving money” and “helps” are also repeated frequently, limiting variety. Aim to use accurate collocations and vary key terms where appropriate—for example, refer to “building savings” or “setting aside income.” Proofread spelling and check that each phrase expresses a complete, natural idea; this will make your argument easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause (“This is because emergencies can happen at any time”) and a conditional example (“A person who saves part of their monthly income can accumulate…”). Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. In the introduction, “because itis provide helps” has an incorrect verb construction; “young people saving money helps them” needs a clearer subject structure; and “their provide financial security and helps” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “For example, People” and “instance,a person.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check verb forms, agreement, spacing, and punctuation during revision.
